As my bio says, I have a sudden fascination with Mumford and Sons, the folk-rock band that's been around for only a couple years. I've been listening to them since 2011, but now the fascination has developed into something not quite like fanboyism, but something significant.

Their music sounds so...real. Real and not synthetic. Despite that "handicap", they've still managed to beat out several Pop bands in sales and reach, including One Direction and Justin Bieber in their newest album "Babel".

Here's some links to throw at you:

I'm alright with them, but it's tiring seeing every trendy music act these days having to bust out a lead with an acoustic guitar, and a few more esoteric instruments.

First off, I'm glad somebody made it big out of the indie-folk/folk-rock/indie-rock or whatever you wanna call it genre, but I'm not sure why it was Mumfords and Sons. My theory is that there isn't much to not like about them, compared to my favorite bands.

At least it's not all vocals. They do have some intense instrumental sections, most notably, Dustbowl Dance.

Their lyrics aren't quite as cut-and-paste as most pop songs are, either.

I didn't listen to their new album much, but on the run-through that I did, I wasn't quite as impressed with it as I was with Sigh No More. It was mostly because most of their songs are fitting to a specific sound and style now, rather than the uniqueness of each song of the first, but I suppose I'll listen to it again.

There are tons of musical gems like them. They just have to be found.
