On the old ArmorGames site, when it went down, there was a game available to play while you waited, I think. Having only played it once, and on an unwilling occasion, I can't recall the name of it. It was a top-down shooter with an insane difficulty level, where you play as a ship and blew up other multi-colored ships using various weapons that could be purchased with points obtained from beating the levels. I've searched through the archives of suitable genres for this game on ArmorGames with no success. Does anybody know what the name of this game is?

You'll have to tell us more. You only narrowed it down to a colorful top-down shooter.

@ironblade41

I thought that since this game was the only one which was available when the site was down, that would be enough. Hmm... I think your ship was a triangle like the arcade-styled shooters. It had 8 or 10 levels and the amount of bullets on the screen resembled Touhou. It had a sort of sandbox mode where you had an infinite amount of upgrade points and could buy however many things you wanted, but your top scores wouldn't save of course. The upgrade points I mentioned that you get legit depend on your performance in the level. You were ranked by letter from F to A+ on your performance, with the max upgrade points you can achieve from that level at either A or A+, I forget. Each level had a different single color (or two, I also forget) for the enemies and boss at the end, while you were always a single color. While you could change the weapons and upgrades on your ship, you always had to be piloting that isosceles triangle-shaped ship.

@Kasic

No, unfortunately, it is none of those.

Your request really got me going there Nathaniell7... I did an extensive search, but all I could find were 4 games that came closest to what you described... in order of possible match:

1) Boss Slayer

2) Space Attack

3) Space Arcade

4) Starmageddon

The only other game that could have been a match is one of the 2 Upgrade Complete games (1st Game, 2nd Game), but I really don't think it is either of them. =)

@MrDayCee

Thank you for doing all of that to assist me. It seems this was in vain, which is hugely dissapointing, however. Boss Slayer actually came to be a pretty close match, but it wasn't the same game and not nearly as challenging, which is the main reason I want to replay this game. For some reason, the color of red resounds well with this game, and it has even brought me to believe the game has "Red" in the name. Since this was before the new site arrived, which also meant that games had to be moved, I fear the game may not even exist on the site anymore. My proof for believing this is the original "Reactance", a similar game, can no longer be found on ArmorGames (although the sequel, "Reactance 2", can). I think the reason I associate red with the game may be because of the fact that final boss was red I think, as well as the best weapon for fighting a boss being the red missile weapon in very large quantities... But that might be just a coincidence.

I found it! It's a game called "Red Fluxion". Hearing that familiar title screen music was like a breath of fresh air and relief after such a long search. Thank you three for assisting me, anyway.

No problem at all, you're most welcome! I did notice the game isn't available on ArmorGames (anymore), so I'll suggest it to Tasselfoot and see if it's worth hosting here again, ok? =)

We wouldn't want you wondering off to another site to play it there, now do we?
