I'm trying to beat Lord Asura with my level 16 warrior and nothing is working on him. Literally none of my "special" abilities actually do what they're supposed to against him.
I can beat him down to about 1/3 health at which point he goes into his healing coma. Okay, hit him with Shuriken to dispel it-- oh, I guess it can't be dispelled. Fine, let's respec and pick up Doomblade to cut his healing-- huh, looks like Doomblade doesn't actually reduce his healing at all. Well, maybe I can use Blood Mirror and hope he kills himself with his own super strike? Nope, even maxed out Blood Mirror only deals him a small fraction of the damage he's laying on me.
What is going on here? Sonny and Sonny 2 had their share of lopsided battles but at least all the boss abilities played by the same rules as the rest of the game. Sinjid apparently just tosses the game mechanics out a window when the boss needs to be harder. Very frustrating, especially when the game tries to tell me "every enemy can be defeated without resorting to brute force". What good is that when I just have to guess which abilities will work and which won't??
FYI, I did finally get him. I maxed out Brutal Advantage, Iron Discipline, Doomblade, Blood Thirst, Concentrated Brew, and 3/5 in Heavy Armor. Then I just stood and traded shots with him (avoiding the slash) until I got enough lucky crits to overcome his healing. Brute force, FTW. I thought I wasn't supposed to have to do that!?
