Uhhh. This thread wasn't supposed to be here when I woke up. Let's see. Off the top of their head, does anyone know what movie I'm referring to? And does anyone know the meaning of this song? Who the heck is John Jacob? Why are they shouting his name?

Those are serious questions that need no answers. All that really matters is...JOHN JACOB JINGLEHEIMER SCHMIDT.

John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt,
His name is my name, too.
Whenever we go out,
The people always shout,
"There goes John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt!"
Da da da da da da da da

I'm pretty sure it has something to do with that.

Also found this too:

The mock German name celebrated in the song suggests that English-speaking children find long northern-European names to be inherently funny words. The surname "Schmidt" and the surname suffix "-heimer" are of Germanic origin. Schmidt is one of the most common surnames in German heritage.

Interesting how this discussion became legit so quickly. Bronze must be a genius.

Ermahgersh. I just realized you can't indent here!

Anyways, I remember the song and was actually thinking about it earlier today. There's always some song going on in my head, whether it's stuck there or not.
