Hi there. I've been a long-time user of this site, but just in the last week or so, I've started getting frequent malware warnings from my virus checker when visiting this site. It appears some of your new ads are coming from sites that my virus checker believes are malicious.
The sites that keep popping up as malicious are "http://adserver.juicyads.com" and "http://server.cpmstar.com" .
I am running WebRoot SecureAnywhere, on Windows 7 x64. I'm using Firefox 20.0.1 .
When you click on them, what are they saying about them that makes them malicious? Depending on the strength of your settings, almost anything could look malicious.
If others are having this issue, please post here.
This url has something to with most of the ad's I've seen on sites like these, but I'm not sure exactly what it is they do as far as ads. I know they've been associated with some malicious ads in the past, and it's possible they will again in the future.
A lot of people (mostly developers/site owners) don't like ad blockers, because they prevent ad revenue. But for those of us that get hit by the ads, ad blockers can also prevent cookies, popups, malicious activity, and also some loud (I know we've all heard them) ads that just don't let up.
But as with all things-computer, trust your gut, and when in doubt; maximize security.
Thanks for the responses, guys. The malware warnings stopped about a day after I reported them, so I'm not sure what was up - I've had a few people suggest that Webroot's malware-site warning is more sensitive than that of most other virus scanners.
To answer an earlier question: I never clicked on these ads at all - the scanner was complaining about the ones showing up on the site automatically, and the ones that would pop-over or under whenever I clicked on any content within the page (a common method for ads to invade your space when a browser's automatic popup blocker is enabled).
i use chrome as well and getting the malware warnings ... this all started after they started using those full page adds you cant avoid when you enter the site...the moment you hit where you want to go your automaticaly taken to another site ... like the one from the move mr peebody or something
Off-Topic, perhaps: I recall now when Google for a while used to add "suspicious" tags to their web search results, this would result in quite a few false positives. I don't even know how I got rid of that, maybe they just abandoned it.
It would anyhows have one wonder about their browser's reliability in this. If, of course, they are false positives we're looking at.
Not sure if post is outdated but i also keep getting this popup asking me to save something. So far had view and one more diff no malware warning or anything just popup asking to save from here. server.cpmstar.com/view.aspx?poolid=44503&rnd=369742
