Ads been popping up in places earlier unseen and it's got me worried - today Dawn of the Dragons didn't load at first, but displayed a small advert with a "you can skip to the game in .." option (I could just close it and continue loading as normal after a few sec), but stranger yet was that one of the pictures in the game itself got changed into an advert picture! most worrying is that only I was able to see that and the pic was one of those normally displayed in armorgames ad boxes adjusted to my country.
Oviously it got me worried I caught some adware or other virus but..only on this game?
ArmorGames has nothing to do with the advertisements displayed inside the MMO game screens. Those are coming from the MMO game developers themselves.
The advertisement you saw replacing an ingame image is probably a hickup from your browser itself. Nothing to worry about... but if you want to make sure, run a virus scan on your computer and it should pop up in the process. =)
You're probably right with the ingame image hickup, but the advert box now appeared during the loading of Jacksmith as well (while the armorgames logo vid was showing) - and that's not an MMO. Seeing as I'm not the only person getting that issue and it's the same for every game regardless of producer I can't see how Armorgames has nothing to do with it..unless it's our Flash players doing tricks.
Aha... I see... well, I stand corrected then... I was assuming these advertisements were ingame and not external, which explains my thoughts on them originating from 5thPlanetGames instead. =)
And aside from it blocking your view while the game is loading, it is only for a very short period of a mere 5 seconds, which gives you the time to mentally prepare for the gaming task at hand!
You are not right, e.g. in wartune, the ad after 5 secs have to be closed manually and then we can select one of game servers. Nothing can be loaded in background before server is selected and it cant be selected before the ad is closed.
