Most major websites use Captcha to keep out spam, why don't we? I understand it can be inconvenient, but it would help cut down on spam so the Mods and Admins have more time to do other, more important things. Just a suggestion.
Perhaps you weren't around at the time, but this was implemented last year and it didn't work.
