I know that bryan definately understands him. It doesn't seem that any one else understands him but sometimes it does. In the petoria episode when it shows the future classroom the kid raises his hand and asks if people can understand Stewie so we may never know.

i dunno...my mum said that she watched it and said that she thought brian was the only one who could understand stewie, ive wondered it for a while myself.

There is no answer to that,seth macflane or w.e prolly got that question 1 000 000 and he'd just say sumthing like,what do u think,although funnier.. dude david highpierce isn't stewit is it cause in that 100 episode that one fat chick asked and he said yes,I thought seth was peter,brian and stewie. Can some1 enlighten this for me.

I think they can always hear what he says except they mostly ignore it or only hear fragments, except for brain.

Sometimes they do and sometimes they dont.

maybe most of the people except for brian and flashback people think he's just saying random stuff and ignore him. but then again i have no idea

i think only bryan does.

Also why does he always say Cool Hwip? he puts way too much emphasis on the H

I think all of them CAN understand him but don't want to so his mom,dad,sis and bro just pretend not to but Brian does because he's smart too!

I think it can be summed up as follows:

1) Bryan can, because Bryan can engage just about everybody who would engage him. Furthermore they often engage in various partnerships whether it be parenthood, or trying renovate a house together.

2) Lois is oblivious because Bryan is her darling widdle boy, even if she was, well, his Bastille, lol.

3) Apparently Stewie is the only one who directly believes Chris' claim that there is an evil monkey in his room. I'm not sure that Meg understands Stewie though.

4) Peter never pays any attention to anybody anyway.

5) I can't remember Stewie's interaction with other characters enough. In the episode where he stayed at the childcare center, it appeared that his utterances (and fantasies) were understood by nobody else except him.

But I'm no Family Guy expert so I can't provide a full list.

usually only brian does and e is the only one stewie ever has a full fledge convorsation with anyway well usually and louis almost never understands (but u kno that one episode where louis has a dream of stewie having nuclear warheads and explosives everywhere in a secret room in his room? and when stewie talked to her in her dream she understood...im pretty sure)

I think only brain does and the other family in flash backs but usually they don't understand him BUT there are episodes that the whole world understand it like in the episode that stewie becomes the u.s president.

i dont think they can but im not sure who cares hes hilarious either way.
