Only works on my desktop. Attempting to play it on another pc brings up a pop-up from 'Lekool' requesting log-in to their servers. This is specific to this game. Other normal games and MMOs like 'galaxy online' or 'irate galaxy' do work on other pc's.

Haven't tried carrying my desktop to another house to test if it still works on another network. =)

Why does this happen and how can this be fixed?

It won't be the connection, I don't think. (Well, on a very very odd chance, maybe router settings? Would seem etremely unlikely to me, though.)

My first hunch would be it's your precise browser (or perhaps operating system) settings on either machine(s).

ps So on a closer check for you, yes lekool.com is one of the sites that may or may not require certain permissions (notably Javascript and Flash Player, but the latter usually follows from the former) to play.

I reckon on the machine where you'd never noticed before, this is allowed by default.

pps So it follows that next time the other machine aks for that permission, allow it and see if it plays.

You can always disallow it again if you don't like what you get/have second thoughts about it later.

And then

Why does this happen

Roughly, a game may be carried on a site such as this, but actually hosted on a different server(s) of its own. This is especially the case with these MMO's (massively multiplayer online games), which require an infrastructure/hosting capacity that would otherwise be far too taxing on these third-party sites, and carrying any number of them. (If I put that right, I'll gladly stand corrected.)

So hence your machine actually needing to acces another site(s)/server(s) (they can be several) to play.

Yeah it's the browser settings. Didn't work on chrome in XP, does work on IE8 in XP. Runs on chrome in win8.

The why was more a product of the thought 'did they sneakily install something on said desktop to only make it work there'. But that was a silly thought. Didn't think of the browser settings. Thanks for the help!
