There are programs to help you weed out such things.
I'm not sure if the administrators here will be happy with my mentioning them (delete at will), since ads are revenue to them; but in Firefox, what keeps my browsing experience somewhat tidy is a combination of Ghostery, Adblock plus, and NoScript. There must and will exist similar programs for other browsers. It may also be worth going over your browser's settings some to see if you can restrict some stuff.
Such bona fide programs will or should by default allow some non-intrusive ads, in a bid to make life not unnecessarily hard on site owners and keepers.
We do not support those programs, and they can often times lead to other problems with loading and saving games. Which ads are causing this for you asanandic? Have you tried a different browser, oftentimes lag can be related to a browser more then even an ad.
