I wanted to play Legend of Zelda 2 (The Adventure of Link, the one for the original NES). I found it on muchgames.com where you can play but it has no sound. It says that you need to install Java to play it with sound. So I installed Java through their link.
Now when I try to open it with Java, I get a box which says: .................................................................................................. "Do you want to run this application? And unsigned application from the location below is requesting permission to run: Location: http://malawin.ftpaccess.cc.nyud.net/
Running unsigned applications like this will be blocked in a future release because it is potentially unsafe and a security risk"
Then there is a check-box that says "I accept the risk and want to run this app" .............................................................
Can someone tell me if it would be a bad idea to run this. And if it is, can you suggest a better way of safely installing Java so I can play LoZ2 with sound?
And I just want to stress that I am stupid and don't know anything and want help from someone smart (so you don't need to worry that I don't know that).
Better be safe and not accept this. The URL link suggests it might be some kind of malware application in my opinion... I can't offer you any better advice than this. If this game is really worth your risk and time, then it is up to you. If it were me, I would leave it be and consider it a shame and move on. =)
