This thread is just like Battle of the Bands or Battle of the Brands, except with creatures.
Basically all you do is you vote for an animal that would beat the other.
Today we will solve one of movies greatest mysteries:

Bears.

Lions have great fangs but bears have a tough hide. And huge paws that can send jumping salmons flying. Also, and this has nothing to do with a direct confrontation, but bears adapt easily to urban areas while lions do not.

Bears.

The average time of intercourse from engagement to coitus is 15 seconds for a lion. And you thought you had problems.

Also: kodiak brown bears: 1000+ lbs
Lions: 400 lbs

Lions have very little stamina as well, and bears are not exactly fragile. Grizzly bears aren't slow, either. They can run about 60 kph. And you have to be pretty quick to swipe a salmon out of a river.

Sorry for the double post, but I thought I'd leave this here as well.

Fun fact...burrs are just like us; perverted.

How do you run away from Polar burr? Throw your clothes off..the clothes will distract it.

Okay, lets see. Where do lions live? Hmmmm, I seems that they live in Africa and parts of Eurasian. BORING.

What's the other option? Bears? Grizzly bears? You don't say? It appears that grizzly bears live in Canada... *Gazes into sky with thoughtful eyes*

I think we can all see that Grizzly Bears would win any type of showdown.

Well considering all media logic is either biased or completely wrong...

That was the irony/joke... ;P

A 500 pound bear would murder a 110 pound lion......

A bear is a lot stronger and has thicker hide and bones so I don't see the lion would be able to take out the bear before the bear destroys it.

It would depend on the species of bear.A lion might be able to take on a small black bear but otherwise the bear would win. Also I think it would be more interesting if it was Liono VS Kuma the bear.

I don't see any ways of the lion winning with any strategies or tactics, except surrounding the bear with 4 lions or so, so i will go with the bear. The bear neck is very muscular and powerful, so i don't see any chance of the lion able to suffocate the bear by clogging its airway, unless the bear is small. so the only way for the lion to win would be to bleed the bear to death, which is impractical and needs favorable odds at the lion's side.

Crocodiles for obvious reasons.

First off, habitat advantage. What makes you think that when a crocodile and a gorilla meet, the croc isn't going to be near a body of water? The crocodile will just lure the gorilla in for a drink or something and snatch his head off.

Secondly, that skin is tough. There's no way that a gorilla can injure a crocodile with blunt force. In fact, I'm betting that more damage will be done to the gorilla's fist than anything.

Thirdly, that bite is virtually impossible to escape. Think about it this way, a gorilla can pummel and pummel with its fists, but it's not something a crocodile can't escape into the water from. On the other hand, one successful bite and the gorilla is done for.

Lastly, gorillas are more pacifistic than suggested. Gorillas would usually only chase after animals if they run away or are intimidated by the gorilla's grunting and beating on the chest, and I can't see a crocodile being fazed by this. The gorilla will automatically acknowledge the crocodile's dominance and back down.

Therefore, crocodiles are the victor in almost any scenario.

TL;DR
Crocodiles win because of logic.

I agree with Rip. Crocodiles have that strong skin and a habitat advantage. And one successful bite and the gorilla will have lost.

So my vote goes to Crocodile.
