I attempted to log in a few minutes ago, and I was told that I had to reset my password "because I hadn't changed it" due to a security breach. It's not April Fool's Day. So what, may I ask, is going on?

This is correct, there was a security breach a long while ago - if you haven't changed your password be sure to follow the directions to do so Ernie.
