Just thought of this. Imagine you posted in any threads. Or just the forum game thread "your banned". Then you press new tab and do whatever you want. After a few minutes (or hours) you have to reload the screen to see anything new.
I don't know if you have Facebook, but in Facebook when you comment on something and if someone else comments back, you don't need to reload or refresh the screen to see the someones comment.
It could be a bit easier, you know. I mean you don't have to refresh the screen to see other user's comment. Is this possible?
That would be some simple Javascript... depending how the site is built. Although, I don't see why it is such a problem to reload the page...
I do wish there were a way for a notification or something to let you know that there was a reply to your thread, other than an email, if that is what you are trying to express; then I fully support that notion.
