So I thought I would make a new thread of my art from 2012 onwards. I am quite a keen artist and I hope to become a full-time working artist in the future. I mainly work in Sculpture as my prefered medium but also do an assortment of 2D pieces mainly relating to my GCSE Art Projects so in each one I'll explain the ideas behind it. I'll keep updating this thread with all my art and would love feedback. Both critical and positive are welcome. I'll start with a sculpture I did a couple years back which represents war and destruction, inspired by an artist I personally know. It was my first bigish sculpture made out of foam board, white acrylic and bits of wire all on a canvas; I made it for my schools Art competition which it won ^-^

Looks sea-nsational!

Thankyou mr comedian.
Is that building from Mirai Nikki?

The building I made is just roughly based on your average council house block of flats. The artist I was inspired by was influenced by the war damaged buildings in Middle Eastern countries.

Thanks guys, here's one last Seashell drawing I did, in pencil this time. I still focused on the contour lines and it's a bit smudged so I hope it comes out good enough quality to see the detail.

Part of my project was refining and developing my ideas and I had to find an organic form to draw from so I choose Wild Mushrooms (random idea I know but they looked cool outside). So I took a picture of the gilles and actually drew every single one of the mushroom, and as you can see it's got quite a lot of them. It is done in biro.

I really enjoy the way you hatch and cross hatch on your seashells. It really defines it and makes it pop out in a unique way that captures that beauty of still life.

Thanks, I used cross-hatching instead of regular shading because it definetly matches with contour lines than regular, as hatching is also a pattern of lines.

A water colour painting of a rose I've done recently, needs a bit of touch up though.

That rose is amazing. It may have been difficult to scale down to small square armatar size since it's handmade, but it would have been a beautiful addition to the collection.

Thanks for the feedback guys, I don't usually paint as it is my weak spot when it comes to art but I'm starting to enjoy watercolour now a lot. My parents want to buy it off me now but it's for my course aha.
I looked more into roses because of their fragility, delicacy and beauty. I'm look for ways I can give new meanings for organic forms i.e in this sculpture creating a rose out of wire and glass which is the opposite to it's true form if you get me. The wire is joined just by twists no soldering/welding and the broken glass is stuck with a glue gun and glass glue.

What did you use to color the glass? Is that watercolor as well?

Watercolour didnt provide the right affect so I used ink instead.
