The Holiday Season is over and we're looking back at a fantastic Winter Edition of the Armor Games' Armatar Contest! A lot of original artwork was created and entered and those that contributed are entitled to receive their deserved Merit!

Now that the 'most wonderful time of the year' is over, Santa's gone back to the Northpole, the Christmas tree is put back in the attic and the snowman (probably) melted, we're coming up to an annual day of love and affection!

Ahuh... ahuh... that's right! Sooo... who's YOUR secret sweetheart?! Got anyone particular in mind?! Did you buy him/her a nice Valentine's present?! Maybe some flowers, chocolate or a beautiful card?! Yes?! Or... perhaps you're feeling creative and you're making your very own custom special delux Valentine's Card!! BUT WAIT!! First we need you to show an effort and submit some wonderful creations of art for our contest! *whispers* So you can practice on your drawing skills and amaze him/her! *winks* Well, the rules are still the same! Here they are...

# ARMATAR CONTEST GUIDELINES :

1) All entries must be appropriate. They cannot be offensive or profane in nature. Keep it clean!
2) The entry must be square, and at least 100x100 pixels in dimension.
3) Your entry must scale down well to 100x100. So if it is larger, make sure that it will still look good when it is scaled down to the actual armatar size. Here are a few suggestions about this :
~ Sometimes keeping it simple is better. If you go into a lot of detail, it might not look as great when you scale it down. So keep in mind what the final size will be and check often how it looks when it is scaled down.
~ Remember to save a lot while you are making it! Better to delete 20 -in between made- save files later on, than ending up with something you actually don't like...
~ If you are able to do vector, by all means! That can help with the sharpness of the image. However, since they are so small this is probably not a big issue.
4) Must be completely original. You cannot use elements from other pieces of artwork, the entire armatar must be 100% created by you.
Plagiarism will not only exclude your submission by means of disqualification, it will also exclude you from participation in any future contests AND will have further consequences!
5) Must be fitting to the current contest's theme. If a certain entry is debatable to whatever extend, a mod or admin will give the decisive and final ruling for submission.

The contest will remain open untill a few days after Valentine's day, so there's plenty of time for you to enter your artwork!

Are you ready? Then grab your pencils and paper, and/or your mouse and start making your wonderful original works of art! As always, be creative! Amaze us! =)

But i can't make my rose 100x100...

If you crop the image so that there isn't so much white space around the drawing, the resized image will show more of the rose and less of the space around it. Make sure that, when you crop it, it comes out as a square (the first and the second numbers of pixels are the same number, i.e. 300x300, 246x246, etc.), so you can resize the image proportionally.

If the image loses too much detail at 100x100, i.e. the lines become spacy and pixely, you can try a "slow" resize, whereupon, instead of going straight from, say, 500x500 to 100x100, you gradually decrease the size of the image by changing it to--for the purpose of this example--400x400, then 300x300, then 200x200, and finally 100x100. This was the method I used for my rose submission on the previous page, and every line in the drawing is as clear as day.

If you're using Photobucket, everything I just said can be done using Photobucket's tools. If you're using a photo sharing site that doesn't have a crop or a resize tool built into its interface, the site @nichodemus posted above should get the job done.
