This is the World Events, Politics, Religion, Etc. subforum so I'm assuming this thread belongs here. Otherwise feel free to put it in the Tavern, dear mods.

---

I've been contemplating some of the metaphorical political realities of AG. What kind of government is in place? Is it democratic? Communist? Libertarian? Is it federalist? And what type of economic and societal enactments are there? Socialist? Capitalist? Where do the governmental functions work and who makes them up? How does AG work as a society?

In short, compare AG to a country.

This is how I see the site:

Government structure:
Largely federalist with a shared autocracy in the highest division, although headed by a chair. The highest division is comprised of the administration with Dan in the top chair. In the second division, the moderators lay. They are subject to a bicameral parliamentary that is somewhat shared with the knights. The knights, in the third division, make up the second half of the parliamentary. The second and third functions work together like Congress: the Senate (moderators) features those with generally more powers and are delegated largely by appointment from the highest division, and the House (knights) features those with generally less powers and are delegated by a mix of popular opinion as well as appointment. Together they come to decisions to present to the highest division. As for branch structure, the legislative branch is comprised of solely the highest division with consideration of Congressional opinion. The executive branch is made up of the Senate and the highest division, with the highest division receiving more power. The judicial branch is fundamentally nonexistent, and is instead infused with the executive.

Economic structure:
For the most part AG is a capitalist society. What you work for is generally what you will receive in terms of post count, Quests, comments, games rated, etc. (easier to compare to AP than it is to current structure).

Societal structure:
Viewpoints are generally correlated with join date. In terms of actual definitions and not vague political considerations, the 2008-2010 people are conservatives because they are against change. The 2010-2011 people are largely moderate: change is good if it can be good. And, from what I have viewed, many from 2011+ are liberal: change is needed! But that can and will definitely vary from person to person.

Never saw AG like a country ( yes like a family cause i think like all users are like another family here) also would be good to think that senators (mods) punish the spammers and wrongdoers in the Senate and give them a temporary ban (can get out of jail if they are good) and perma ban ( jail for ever)

The administrators are not represented by the users, nor is there any democracy of sorts within the community (though we do take ideas and suggestions occasionally), so with this, ArmorGames is probably governed like an Oligarchy, because 96% of the power rests within a group of people (the green Administrators). You could say all the power rests in the head honcho Daniel McNeely, but that would be leaking two universes.

The other four percent of the power comes from the moderators. While our occupations do not drive AG production, a significant portion of our advice or suggestions do change a little bit of what does get produced.

The entire administration (mods and staff) has a complete Authoritarian perspective on advertisement bots, meaning we do not want them in our country, we judge them lightly, and we execute them on the spot without trial.

The administration does hold trials for certain users and behaviors, but this also means we are judge, jury, and executioner, as there is no separate judiciary with jurisdiction to handle these issues (because that would cost more money [and would be silly to actually implement this, but this is again leaking universes] and unnecessary effort).

The administration frowns upon mini-modding, but don't be a bystander if something does spontaneously present itself towards you in your travels!

perma ban ( jail for ever)

I think you mean imprisonment. Or at least the expulsion from society.

Admins: Senate (legislative)

I would disagree because the formal sense the Senate is either voted upon by citizens or appointed by the executive branch. The admins are admins. Unless, of course, you are implying Dan (president) appoints them. But that's still only half and we don't vote for Dan either.

Daniel: President (executive)

We don't vote for Dan. Also, the executive branch carries out the laws. the rest of the admins and mods do this as well.

Mods: FIB / Court (Judicial system)

I am assuming you mean the FBI. In any case, the admins and the mods investigate (FBI = Federal Bureau of Investigation). As for interpretation of laws, the mods do this, but carry out laws. This in turn would suggest the mods are executive and legislative.

That brings up a good point: there is no separation of power.

Knights: Citizen police

Do you mean general police? Because the knights have no powers of punishment.

Active users: Voting citizens

Agreed.

Helpful active users: undercover cops

This brings up another point: do the citizens have any implied powers? Or are helpful, active users merely helpful, law-abiding citizens?

Ferret: ferret

Could you elaborate? Was this a joke? ._.

Spammers, hacker, trollers: Criminals

Agreed.

Buildings: Forums
Streets: Games

Could you explain this as well?

@Frank
Thanks! The way you worded it made it much clearer.

I've always found the economic system of AG to be capitalist in nature, where game designers on here compete with each other for our attention. like any capitalist system, the government of AG (admin designers) could also take part in the process. the games that don't keep our attention fall through the cracks, while the better games rise to the top and become well known, and then are picked up by other websites, which make them even more popular as well.

AG is a benevolent dictatorship. One person (or is it a small group?) holds absolute power and bestows powers on his preferred subjects, who then bestow powers on their favoured subjects within the rules set by the dictator. As subjects of this regime, we have the right to talk and group with who we want to, and to protest and lobby the leadership, but all decisions rest with them except where a referendum is held. Freedom of speech is permitted except where forbidden by the rules.
