This is the World Events, Politics, Religion, Etc. subforum so I'm assuming this thread belongs here. Otherwise feel free to put it in the Tavern, dear mods.

I've been contemplating some of the metaphorical political realities of AG. What kind of government is in place? Is it democratic? Communist? Libertarian? Is it federalist? And what type of economic and societal enactments are there? Socialist? Capitalist? Where do the governmental functions work and who makes them up? How does AG work as a society?

In short, compare AG to a country.

This is how I see the site:

Government structure:
Largely federalist with a shared autocracy in the highest division, although headed by a chair. The highest division is comprised of the administration with Dan in the top chair. In the second division, the moderators lay. They are subject to a bicameral parliamentary that is somewhat shared with the knights. The knights, in the third division, make up the second half of the parliamentary. The second and third functions work together like Congress: the Senate (moderators) features those with generally more powers and are delegated largely by appointment from the highest division, and the House (knights) features those with generally less powers and are delegated by a mix of popular opinion as well as appointment. Together they come to decisions to present to the highest division. As for branch structure, the legislative branch is comprised of solely the highest division with consideration of Congressional opinion. The executive branch is made up of the Senate and the highest division, with the highest division receiving more power. The judicial branch is fundamentally nonexistent, and is instead infused with the executive.

Economic structure:
For the most part AG is a capitalist society. What you work for is generally what you will receive in terms of post count, Quests, comments, games rated, etc. (easier to compare to AP than it is to current structure).

Societal structure:
Viewpoints are generally correlated with join date. In terms of actual definitions and not vague political considerations, the 2008-2010 people are conservatives because they are against change. The 2010-2011 people are largely moderate: change is good if it can be good. And, from what I have viewed, many from 2011+ are liberal: change is needed! But that can and will definitely vary from person to person.
