Thomas, you should be pretty close to Beam. I forget just which field it came from, but I got it a very short time after I managed to get Freeze. Try the tome field that needed freeze to open, perhaps?
I haven't seen Amplifiers yet, except for V4 where the game lets you play with them without the skill. Not a hint of the yellow mastery yet either - I'm currently working on trying to get Curse.
Re: Reechi I've found that green or dual green traps work better with beam than with bolt, for clearing out swarmlings.
Update: Amplifier skill is at J4. It can be done with dual green-orange gems for the most part, a few purples to take out the beacons and soften the giants up.
I can't remember if it's true, but someone wrote that the beam skill is at D4.
If it is, then it's really funny since I managed to not find it for a very long time due to my strange map exploring habits That's why I used bolt so much over beam, because I didn't have it, and I assumed everyone unlocks them somewhat later when giving my tips. Though definitely try bolt on red/... dual gems in traps.
Erile, if you're having troubles with the first wave, try calling first 4-5 right away. It will give you additional mana, and also charge the bolt and other spells. Don't know, if it would work only with bolt, but with beam it saved me a lot of times.
Amplifiers reached, but I need the Curse skill which I do not yet possess...and I also need to actually reach D4...
Anyone got advice for field B3 (the one whose wave composition consists mostly of swarmlings, but has reavers which are put in there solely to throw you off)?
B3 is the one where you can't place towers, right? I've always just used poison traps there, it's more than enough for the swarms. As for the reavers, you can enhance your traps with Bolt (ignore armor) or Beam if you have it (increased firerate), and the buffs are permanent. Just keep some mana in your pool to banish anything that comes through.
The wizard tower in the J hextile is an enormous pain, but once beaten you are just two fights from getting Curse, with a little luck and strategy. Orange was my friend there, tons of orange gems generating mana from striking the locks.
The other thing I needed to do in that fight was kill the monsters some distance before they approached my orb, so the lock breakers could work without much interruption.
Is there a Field S? An Exists an Trait at nineth slot? i have done all fields, but i cand find entrance to Field S, also i dont have done the Vision Fields.
If you read the thread, you will find the answer regarding hextile S, thunderhowl. As far as the last battle trait, I presume it exists, but have no clue where to find it or whether it requires the magician's pouch to get to.
Okay, so I didn't exactly have the best results,, but I did clear it...except I can't get to exactly 146 unspent skill points...lovely.
Hmm...well, try to get rarer talisman fragments. They will help.
I managed to defeat H4, but I didn't open the tome because you have to kill every single monster in a very small area. Defeating H4 without opening the tome unlocks no new fields. So basically if you don't defeat H4, you can't progress on anything else in the game. (H3 doesn't exist and the other two available fields won't let me play them without Freeze)
I actually do have mostly rares for my fragments, and have purposely selected fragments in order to give me the most bonuses vs the monsters that are the problem in this field (special reavers and giants).
The main problem is the high armor rating of the reavers and especially giants, both of which have high health and come in large swarms. I'm confused as to why the game requires you to level 20 times in between two fields of progress... It seems like an bad jump in game difficulty.
It sounds like something might be wrong with the game itself since you reported that you had access to other fields. Its odd that I can't access lower level fields (like M) without first beating higher level fields. Maybe this is a bug in the game?
