Summer is almost over and so is the Armatar Contest with this theme... Both this one and the RAZE III Edition were a success once more! Thanx to everyone who submitted their awesome art! Well done everybody!! =)

Before we dive into the wonderful world of the annual scary fun, we have a quick stop to give you a chance to be creative once more! Everyone loves them, but... can you draw them too?! Well, here's a shot at creating an art piece of:

ANIMALS!!!

https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5561/15095696107_5929916f3a_b_d.jpg

As usual, here are the guidelines that help you figure out what is allowed and what is not :

# ARMATAR CONTEST GUIDELINES :

1) All entries must be appropriate. They cannot be offensive or profane in nature. Keep it clean!
2) The entry must be square and at least 512x512 pixels in dimension.
3) Your entry must scale down well to 100x100. So if it looks good in its larger form, make sure that it will still look good when it is scaled down to the armatar size. Here are a few suggestions about this :
⦠Sometimes keeping it simple is better. If you go into a lot of detail, it might not look as great when you scale it down. So keep in mind what the Armatar size will be and check often how it looks when it is scaled down.
⦠Remember to save a lot while you are making it! Better to delete 20 -in between made- save files later on, than ending up with a finished piece you don't like or an end result that is showing up blurred when scaled down...
⦠If you are able to do vector, by all means! That can help with the sharpness of the image. However, since they are small in Armatar size, this is probably not a big issue.
4) An entry must be completely original. You cannot use entire (or even elements from) pieces of artwork made by someone else, the entire armatar must be 100% created by you! A Moderator can ask you to provide conclusive proof that the entry was created by you entirely and you are obligated to provide this when asked for.
Plagiarism will not only exclude your submission by means of disqualification, it will also exclude you from participation in any future contests AND will have further consequences!
5) All entries must be fitting to the current contest's theme. If a certain entry is debatable to whatever extend, a Mod or Admin will give the decisive and final ruling for submission.
...

# CLOSING DATE OF THIS CONTEST :

This contest is open for a short time, so make sure you get your entries in before the closing date of 10/19/2014!
...

# WINNING SUBMISSIONS :

Every participant of an official edition of the Armor Games' Armatar Contest receives a well deserved Merit for submitting one -or more- entries to every separate edition held. This means a maximum of one Merit per participant, per edition.
Alongside this Merit for your participation, we now have a special non-game Quest to award for the winning submissions of the Armor Games' Armatar Contest!! This special Armatar Creator Quest will be bestowed upon the creators of the winning entries that were chosen for every contest held from now on. The winners will receive this Quest to show our appreciation for their outstanding work. Wear this Quest with pride!
⦠Winners will be chosen after the edition is officially closed;
⦠The winning entries are non-debatable, results are final;
⦠The Quest can only be awarded to a user once per year. If a particular user wins several editions during the same year, they will only receive that particular Quest once, as we can not award a particular Quest a second time;
⦠Every year there will be a new Armatar Creator Quest, which will be achievable for every participant;
⦠As a special appreciation for their outstanding work, all the winners and their winning entries of every edition will be placed into the Armatar Creator Quest Winners Hall of Fame! (Official thread link will be implemented when created.)
...

This contest gives you the chance to enter an image of an animal... any animal! Whether it's a zoo animal, a pet or even a fantasy animal! Anything goes, just as long as it's... right! An animal! =D

We're looking forward to seeing your wonderful ideas and contributions! Are you ready to make those fluffy, scary, weird, adorable, bloodthursty, likeable or imaginary creatures? Well go ahead!

Make 'em look good and amaze us!!! =)

This time, i have tried something different for my entry. I'm not sure that my work respects the rules (it isn't a "genuine" drawing), so I upload some -in between made- images and I wait an "Ok, it's good" from a mod.

Title: " Desert Gantic to the Moon" (I think this should sound like a pun: a desert, a rabbit that refers to the indie game "To the Moon" and the verb "to desert&quot
512x512 version:

100x100 version:
http://i62.tinypic.com/206o7qg.jpg

First step: I love making origami. I played To the Moon time ago and I have made this rabbit. Some hours ago i made a photo of my rabbit. Origami look much better in photo.
http://i58.tinypic.com/2d9xlcm.jpg

Second step: I uploaded the photo on a online service for cartoonize pics.
http://i60.tinypic.com/35jfplv.jpg

Third step: Yay! MS Paint! Green, purple, yellow, black and dark green( !? not sure, colorblind here!) to make background, the borders and shadow of the rabbit.

Fourth step: Added eye, mouth, sun, sky and a bush(and its shadow).

Yikes. Now I feel awful for submitting a rat and a pig.

To be fair, you only have MS paint, we have some more advanced programs. It's the technology I have at my disposal that makes this easier, I doubt I could make much on MS Paint.

@riku_ullman
I was reading through the post and saw your comment. If you are still having issue re-sizing your image try downloading GIMP, it's free.

Open picture in gimp, go to "image" option on the top and click "scale image" type in the size you want the image in. (width 512, height 512 Px)

To save as jpeg image, go to file> EXPORT AS
Then go to the bottom where it says "all export images" and choose Jpeg and click export. The image will save in the size you wanted.

You can repeat process for 100X100, just name the file something else so it won't overwrite the 512X512 one
Hope it helps
