Do you mean armament because I installed all the armaments

You need to capture and upgrade outposts before you can clear the bordering areas of hordes if I'm not mistaken.

I'm sorry, that answer didn't really clarify anything for me. Do you have to upgrade all the outposts to max before the other areas unlock?

@Yombo Nope, but you need to upgrade it to get at least one tower weapon in order to do the border missions.

I don't have the option to do the frontier missions even though I already have the 3 initial areas with 1 machine gun and 2 rockets.

I already solved it, you must use the gun tower to reduce the danger level in an area (it doesn't count if it's to repel a horde that is attacking the outpost) adjacent to the unexplored frontier
