It is finally here! Thank you for the wait. I am very sorry for some of the delays, but now we can officially start.
I will be closing the admissions to this game for a bit of time- no new players can join as of now. This WILL change in the future, but, as in most stories, new characters are added along the course of the tale. This is no different, except the players will be playing AS the characters in the stories. You probably already knew this, but I say it anyways.
How will this game be played? Im glad you asked. Essentially, right off the bat, we are splitting the players into two groups. This is known in the world of rpgs as railroading, and it is our goal not to do this frequently. (Railroading Is when the GM gives you little room for choices outside the ones he has in mind). We are creating this split because we have two GMs- myself and @feathers34 . This does not mean that you can join forces later, but for right now, you will be forced to take a side. This game will be run in a party system, where the GM will reply to you individually as well as a collective group.
If you have any questions, please contact me at my profile, or, preferably, in the CoK OOC thread (Chronicles of Katlega Out of Character)

For Every Ending There Is A Separate Beginning....

Memories. You aren't sure where you are. Are you alive? You are not sure. Memories....surge through your mind in violent pulses, bringing nausea to you. One moment you were on the cruise ship. Then,
Screaming.
Chaos.

Darkness.

But now, your eyes are opening. You let your eyes adjust to your surroundings. There is a painful amount of noise where you are, people shouting. You take a moment to look around.
You are inside of a building. It seems to be some sort of.. temple? It is in a different style than what you are use to. In fact....
It seems you just came surging out of pond.
('A pond indoors?' you might think)

There are about ten of you. Different ages and sizes, but all wet from the water. The pond is about 30 ft in diameter. A polished oak table meets two sides of this pond, as if they cut out a part of the table to put the pond in.
How strange.
The voices continues, "Yah hesdui' revyp! Passydemb dui Wodilr ah Piovi!"
On one side of the table there are about ten people... maybe more. Men dressed in heavy armor that resembles that of ancient Sparta...or some Greek land. They are armed with bows, and swords, and many other types of weaponry.
The other side is a an array of twenty people. These people are not all uniform. Some don red chainmail, others wearing Scarlett robes. These people seemed to be armed with more strange weaponry, such as quarterstaffs, chains, and rapiers.

There seem to be loud shouting from both ends.
"Tuiri God-sent oli uili da gaem ayl maxsi voyri!" shouts the side with larger numbers.
A large man on the Spartan-looking side stands up, furious with what the other side said."Ibmalomd dloedalr!" He stomps his giant fist on the table. "Tuii' vess mad sid i'ay... LEN ah ayl uapisomk!"
On both sides, weapons are drawn. You are confused and very scared. When it seems both sides would end up charging, a third group interrupts, shouting louder than anyone else in the room. The voice of one Grey-bearded man, coming from directly in front of you.
This third group (monks, by the looks of it) silences everyone in the room. They speak loudly, and everyone seems to listen. To you, it sounds like a foreign language, but you have no idea what.

These men approach your small group of 10, who are sitting silently. What I going on?
The leader, the grey bearded one, speaks in gentle words.
"Follow me, Special Ones".
You do not know what else to do but obey. You are escorted by the monks down a large passageway til you are led into a room. You are told to sit.
This graybeard man clears his voice.
"It was told in famous prophecy that you would arrive. You are Godsent. 'Tis your title. Your people have arrived in time of dire importance numerous times throughout our history.
"But lets back up. I am Luka of the Silver Order. We are an organization dedicated to serving the people of Frej, (this lovely city), and all of Katlega itself.
"Katlega is the world you know live in. I know it may come as a bit of shock, but I have faith in you. You are all very special, even if you do not realize it. The people of this land idolize you and you are very important. Why?
"Our land is named Katlega. It is named so to honor a mighty warrior and leader in our history, a man by the name of Katlego. Katlego appeared through the same pond that you did moments ago- the Waters of Life- over thousands of years ago. Katlego united our people to defeat a mighty beast, and later an army of demons.
"Your people, the Godsent, are natural heroes. Never before has such a large group appeared. Your timing has a great significance as well.
"Alton the White, a Godsent, was a holy man that proclaimed the teachings of Christ, converting many parts of Katlega. It is because of him that many are able to speak the tongue you call 'Englysh'- it was popularized after his death.
"Alton the White, in his final days, left Katlega with a prophecy- that the Fourth Era would be marked by the arrival of more of his kin. Through the Christ, Alton knew that there would be ten to arrive. And here you are.
"You couldn't have arrived at a more stressed time. I hate to have you pick sides, but it is inevitable. There are two armies at war.
"This is not some petty disagreement. This war has the potential for incredible bloodshed- more than our land has ever seen before. Both sides mean well, but their pride gets in the way. You must choose one to join.
Baralus- is a city in the southern woods of Katlega. is a city built by the strong and for the strong. They a hardy people of warriors and tradespeople, though perhaps a bit stubborn. They are very conservative, and that is the reason this was sparked.
Zenen is a city known for technological advancements. They accept Foreigners- those who live past the Sea of Sand, and their practice of Magic.

Why are they fighting?

The main cause for the civil war is the presence of foreign influence within Katlega. Although most of the city states are loosely held together by traditional alliance, Baralus and some other states agree that magic is not something that should be a common influence in Katlegan culture. Katlegans should be focusing on domestic products instead of foreign magics. Although the Western Province States (the Foreigners) are not directly involved in the war, they send aid to Zenen. Zenen is a city state that openly embraces the infusion of technology and magic and has opened up factories and a small college for Techmaturgy. Baralus is afraid of Zenen growing industrial power and needs it to be stopped. Baralus and Zenen hold a conference to discuss some sort of agreement on restricting this magic, before they turn aggressive and try to conquer Katlega.

Do you have any questions to ask Luka, or the members of the Silver Order? You all may have one question. Use it wisely.

I move to stand beside the door. "Grant me a forge-hammer, forge gloves and a leather apron. I am no godsend. I am a blacksmith. Tell me everything about these two countries. Politics, history, foreign relations, governments, ideologies, rulers. Everything. There is no point making a decision until all the facts are gathered. To do so would be foolish." I say in a level tone.

(Holy beef, this is long. this might take you five minutes to read.)

Name- Cycron

Age- 12

Gender- male

Reason for Cruistar- going to Japan to get new technologies.

Physical Appearance- Face has strange metal looking things on it, and right arm and left hand are mechanical. (at least what seems to be 15 years ahead of time) left leg is also mechanical, and upper chest is metal.

Backstory- (this is gonna be fun.) born into a technologically minded family, Cycron also had a strange name, and was teased for it at school. At age 9, he was caught in a fire, burning off some of his limbs. after being rushed to the hospital, he was given cybernetic replacements for his arm, hand, leg, and damaged organs. (thus the metal chest.) At age 11, he was forced to be given more implants after major problems with his limbs, associated with his ignorance of the machines, these increased his intelligence dramatically, allowing him to be considered a pre-adult (example of one of these: Artmeis Fowl. could be considered one.) due to his knowledge. (IQ tests after the implant was over 400.) afterwards, he gave a multitude of upgrades to himself, wanting to be useful in any situation. at 11 1/2, he ran out of technology to integrate. after raising money, he bought a ticket to Japan. thus the Cruistar.

(something i must do is to list his numerous tools.)

Tools: has a toolkit with screwdriver, hammer, ETC. specialized drills and lasers(the kind used for laser pointers) electric stimulator, drain cleaner, spray sunscreen, lighter, flashlight, pocketknife, and a notepad and pencil.

to answer your question Luka, i am basically a cyborg. if you know what that means, which i doubt. My name is Cycron. also, if i must, i would choose Zenen. i do believe in pacifism and the fact that peace can always come, however, if battle is the required path, so be it. also, i need to check something. i do not believe everything is randomized. if there was a thing that brought us here, i will at least attempt to find it.*i activate internal scans to check for damage. also, i check the systems for any sort of bugs.* *to self* now then, i must check what the heck brought us here... *i say, while attempting to rerun visual of when we came into the whirlpool.*

(guys, i apologize, but i just realized how active this is. here is the times i will normally check. tuesday through sunday, normally i will check at least once a day. monday, i will check around this time, and sometimes i will not come on at all due to me going places. sorry about that.)

Name- Demi Cooper

Physical Appearance- 5ft 10in with a slightly muscular build. has short black hair. one eye is blue and the other is green. Has a scar on his hand for a childhood accident.

Backstory- Demi was raised in the country side of oklahoma. He spent his childhood hunting, fishing and playing in the woods. Learning how to use guns and set traps. As well as how to track. At the age of ten his father gave him a knife for his birthday. Which he learned to use well. Demi is a talkative person with a just go with the flow attitude. Demi never went to collage instead joined the military but was discharge after a few problems arose one of which was his temper. So now he works as a rent a cop.

Politics, history, foreign relations, governments, ideologies, rulers. Everything. There is no point making a decision until all the facts are gathered. To do so would be foolish."

Luka smiles. "In an ordinary situation, I would tell you everything about this world and act as your guide. But times are harsh. Your arrival was a bit..... unexpected. The two city states are on the brink of war- there is a bit of hysteria as to who should control them. I could perhaps try and reason with them, but perhaps one of you should come with me. Your presence alone makes you worth listening too."
Luka sighs. "I hate the rush. Here at Frej it goes against our personal philosophy. But perhaps if I can get one of your help... {gestures to room}.

Cycron goes on muttering things to himself.
@etg2002 There seems to be something blocking your mechanical functions. Your arms feel... heavier? You try and think of a logical source of what is EMP-ing your systems. You hope it isn't permanent.

One of the Godsent steps out. He is standard height, but with a muscular build, a shock of short black hair.
"yeah you can have my name. I'm Demi. Demi Cooper" He says, approaching Luka, who gestures to an ornately crafted table with parchment on it.
"Demi...." Luka exhales and grabs the man gently on his shoulder. "Look into my eyes. I have been gifted with the ability to read character."
There is an awkward silence as Luka stares into the eyes of Demi- who I growing more uncomfortable by the second.
The old sage cleared his throat. "Interesting. Not what I expected, not what I expected at all," he smirks.
Signing his name, Demi asks ""So Luka we came here with nothing Right?"
He nods- "none have so far. I would expect that you come with nothing as well."

"What will happen to us after we choose sides and ask questions?"
Asks another voice. It come from a man in his early twenties. "Presumably you will be taken to either Zenen or Barulus. By honrable tradition, The Order of Silver will send a member of the Order to accompany you. They will protect you with their life- they are your lifelong Ladivdal, your Protector.

"I am not deciding. I am no warrior, I am no godsend. You refuse to answer my request so I am leaving." I say moving out of the room and into the hallway.

"I am not deciding. I am no warrior, I am no godsend. You refuse to answer my request so I am leaving."

Luka smirks "Where too?" Looking around, Luka sees a monk and calls him by name. "Faas! Yes, could you please fetch our good fellow here the tools that he requested?"
'Faas', a man who stood tall and proud, cuts in front of the blacksmith to exit first. Two other monks replace him and block the entrance to the door, preventing anyone from leaving.
"Now listen- You have not done what I have requested either. Patience is something you should invest in."
Walking towards him, Luka points a finger to the smith, showing no fear, and even perhaps laughing a bit. "You cannot stop fate. You are Godsent, whether you like it or not."
Luka paused a second-before returning. "You probably cannot tell, but I am a blind man. I have not used my eyes in forty years. Svarog the Bloodletter stole my vision, but I was able to develop another way of seeing. I am more aware than anyone in this room now.
"The point is- you would be best denying the fact of what you now are, and think of the future. {At this point he turns to all the Godsent} You do NOT have to choose a side!" Luca barks with a force that makes everyone shudder. "But know this well- eventually you will be forced to pick sides; you will fall to blade if you do not. I believe the Godsent are here for special reasons. Thousands also entertain this thought."
Luka shakes his head. "I am going to talk to King Alton and Serro. Raise your hand if you want to come with me.. if so, then sign your name on document over there."

Worrying. if mechanical systems are down, so would be the arm servos. and that would not be fun. *i start manually testing the arm servos* i wonder if the logic circuits are OK. *i take out my notepad and pencil* let me see. *starts drawing* there. the test picture. now then, if i can figure out what it is. they are fine. if not... well, i would prefer to not think about it. (oops, forgot something.) *after i finish trying to figure it out, i raise my hand*

"Where, wherever a blacksmith is needed. Have you ever crafted anything from raw iron? I would assume not. It can take weeks or preparation before you even light your forge and even then it can take weeks more to finish the product." I say calmly. "Patience is something I have mastered. But you step around my requests for knowledge like you enjoy me not knowing while you hold back the knowledge. We both know you can tell me what I wish to hear, it is down to you if you tell me or not. If you tell me what I want to know I will make a decision." I turn to face the blind man, my composure normal and calm "I do not come here and force my lack of religion upon you, I do not stand here preaching about the other religions I am sure this previous Godsend forgot to mention to you, I do not call out the lack of evidence supporting your religion, so I ask you not to force your religion upon me. Do not call me a Godsend and do not talk of fate to me." I turn to the other people, "You do not question any of this? We have been given the barest amount of information about this war and yet you are ready to choose sides? This conflict will change this world for generations and without all the information you are ready to throw your chips to one side or the other without a second look?" I ask without moving.

I respond to the man claiming to be a blacksmith's question. "It's not like we have any other pieces of information. Face it, we aren't in our home anymore. You may be wrong, or you may be right. None of us have any clue about this land, so this man's word is all we've got. I don't know about you, but I think we can learn more about this place if we stay with him for now. As far as we know, we are all dead and this is some form of the afterlife. I say we learn a bit more, then we can decide our own future." I sign my name on the paper.

"If we don't have any other pieces of information then we get those pieces and he has them." I point to the blind man, "We have his word alone. If you were to ask Hitler which side fought for freedom during the wars, then you could just go on his word too. Going on someones word isn't enough. If we're dead then why do they believe in Christianity? Why did they have to be taught about it? No if were we dead and this were some afterlife then they wouldn't have to have been taught about it, they would know it." I say calmly, "According to him we can't decide that, apparently it's all been set out for us already."
