Several years ago I saw a myth busters episode about a east Asian (catapult?) war engine that was used to fire large groups of spear-like
projectiles simultaneously. I can't find the any web pages about this devise, or the episode and would appreciate help.
You can find pretty much anything if you know the right keywords. I think you're talking about the Hwacha. If that's the right thing (they have done a lot of Asian war machine thingys) then it's from the October 22, 2008 episode. Hopefully you can find anything else you need with this information!
There was a repeating crossbow machine made by KongMing around 200AD that would fire ten arrows at once.
