Which do you prefer & why?

For example: I prefer mobile because of portability.

On the other hand, some games like the Elder Scrolls games have a console window in the PC version that can be opened in-game, where you can use commands to go around many bugs (among many other things); something consoles couldn't do.

I'll agree with that. PC's offer unparalleled and complete freedom allowing the more educated of users to manipulate their games to sate their desires. It's always fun to spawn hundreds of cheese rolls and watch them roll down a hill in TES IV: Oblivion. But again, this freedom is only possible because PC's are designed to accomplish more than gaming and so must be more sophisticated.

Consoles are designed to be significantly simpler: a simpler controller and a simpler OS. This simple design fits perfectly for the purposes for gaming where casual gaming is dominant.
