I really don't know what song to start practising on. Don't expect me to play Cohen's Masterpiece (Bioshock OST) or anything fast like that. Something slow... subtle.
I started with Yankee doodle and ode to joy. Those really helped, plus they're burned into my brain so I'll never forget them. Just start simple and work up.
Borrowing or buying easy-leveled piano music books is a great way to practice as well. There are many genres of them too e.g. film music or classic. I practiced by mastering all songs in the book and getting harder ones each time i finish one. And personally, I think being able to read music sheets is essential when learning to play the piano.
Good luck!
How about the Death Waltz?

Joking aside, try the main theme from Starwish at some point. Perhaps not immediately, but work towards it. Look, I even got you the sheet music.

"The Entertainer" by Scott Joplin is an easy song to learn, and it is also a very recognizable piano piece. This is an easy tutorial for the main part. Other more advanced ones exist for when you conquer that section.
Rip did you find that video by yourself or mysteriously pull it out of my Piano playlist on teh YouTube b/c that's like the third thing on there!!! CONSPIRACY?? I THINK NOT
Anyway, I, as a certified piano player who has been tickling the ivories for about ten years, would suggest that you start with something simple. Assuming you know chords, intervals, note names/types, and fingering (beginner stuff), I'd suggest "FABER PIANO ADVENTURES" book series. At least, that's what I started with. Usually each level has 4 books: Technique, Performance, Lesson, and Theory. I remember these vividly because they came in different colors for each level and I was disappointed that level 5 was some sort of greenish gray instead of a nice color.
Anyway, I'm pretty sure that the levels were something like P, 1, 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B, and 5. I started on level 2A so I'm not sure what the first levels are like, but that's a pretty good jumping-off point. Then again if you just want songs that sound nice, start at 3A. Anything before that is kind of insulting to your intelligence.
with lots of practice you can be cool like me and play this fun song
