If you've been following the news in the last couple of hours, today is the exact date when Marty McFly travels forward in time in Back to the Future 2. Now it's 2015. However, none of the technology depicted in the movies has been invented or released (to the general public). There's no hoverboards, no Air McFly, no flying cars. Heck, we still have four wheeled cars! What happened?

Actually, that's incorrect. Lots of technology in the movie has been shown to have happened or have been said to be happening. Here are most if not all of the things that came to existence that came true from the movie.

By the way, hover boards do exist.

Hover boards already exist! There just isn't enough of them yet to let people start buying them.

The streets are generally not hoverboard-friendly yet, as those work with the principle of magnetic levitation.

Fixed the link.

You can purchase self-lacing shoes from Nike as well. Most of the things depicted in the movie do exist, they just don't work exactly like in the movie.

The video is funny but it's not right for the site.
I agree, although it pales in comparison to Bunny Invasion Easter Special.

True, although hoverboards and flying cars as mentioned in the article are not in wide circulation with the public. Yes, they're here, but not everybody has them.
