REGISTRATION CLOSED!

Hello there! Welcome to the living hell that is Tulse's island. This place is mostly owned by 4 major factions where most of them force their citizens to live terrible lives. Your point here is...well...whatever you want it to be. You can go ahead and change the situation IF YOU WISH. This island is, in fact, your garden til the end of time. You might aswell just drink beer in a random tavern, but that wouldn't be alot of fun...or would it?

Here's how the island looks:

Lore and important info:

Tulse's Island is an...island...that has a magical dome all around it which doesn't allow anyone to see the island, detect it, hear it, e.t.c. Also this dome doesn't let anyone inside or outside the island, even if God himself would happen to get here somehow, he could never get out. Nobody knows how this dome got created or how someone even got on the island.

People here each have their own element, it really doesn't help much if you don't use magic, however, if you do, it makes the magic of the same element easier to learn. Technically everyone can learn any kind of magic, but using the magic of the same element as yours just makes everything easier.

And yes, there's magic in this island. Every person has this thing called 'Mana', which basically equals 'magical strength'. Mana is what magical spells drain from you when you use them, if you run out of it and keep using spells, they start draining your blood and lungs, which either immediately kills you, or does permanent damage to your body. Everyone has different amounts of mana, some have more, some have less, some don't have any mana at all. The only way you can tell how much mana you have is by using spells, which is rather risky. It regenerates automatically, most people can regenerate their mana within 3 minutes.

The more powerful the spell is, the more mana it drains.

The magic in this island ranges from simple fireballs to telekinesis to generating and enchanting all sorts of items. However, a lot of people try to refrain from using magic because it's a big risk. Here's why: Anyone can use any kind of magic, a fire elemental person can learn how to use water magic and dark can learn how to use light (though it takes longer time to learn it). The problem is that you don't know when you use too much until it has already drained all the life out of you or done permanent damage to you. Because of this, most people who try magic for the first time immediately die.

Speaking of mastering magic, it takes a while. Mastering magic of the same elements as yours can take weeks to master, mastering magic of different elements takes MUCH longer than that...

The game:

Now to the fun part: Your character will have the most basic RP profile setting possible. When you give me your character, I add a bit of plot to your situation and we continue from there.

Application sheet:

Location: [Choose a city or an area]
Money: [Don't fill this up]
Character's Name and surname: [Or just name if you can't come up with a surname]
Appearance: [Imagine needing to tell this to someone drawing your character]
Personality: [I'd love this to last at least 1 entire line]
Biography: [Your job, history, opinions of the current situation, hobby, any important people, any other kind of important information]
Element: [Choose one: Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Lightning, Poison, Ice, Dark, Light, Physical, Void]
Magical skills: [Mention any magical skills you have]

Elements:

You may have noticed that there are 2 elements that differ from the usual ones. Light, wind, fire, and all of those look very usual and easy to understand, however, you may have some problems understanding these 2: physical and void elements. Let me explain:

Physical is the only element that doesn't have any magical skills that can be learned faster, meaning that no matter what the skill's element is, you will have to spend some time on it, however, people with the physical element
tend to be stronger than everyone else.

Void is an anti-magic element. It's used to destroy any kinds of magical enchantments, barriers, shields, particles, e.t.c. However it doesn't damage anything that's created by nature, this means that even though void destroys magic, it doesn't damage your physical body whatsoever, and considering that mages aren't very common to begin with, void can be announced as the weakest element of all.

Every element has a particular set of skills, technically you can use every element for every type of magic, you can use fire to heal, dark to create light, e.t.c., the only thing is that some elements are more effective for some kind of magic than others (for example, fire is better for fireballs, dark is better for making people blind, water, earth and light are better for healing).

Same elemental spells don't damage each other (Forexample light spells don't damage light elemental barriers and using fire against fire just makes more fire).
Exceptions: Ice doesn't damage water, water doesn't damage ice, physical can damage itself and void doesn't damage physical.

Factions:

Now the factions, you can choose which one you support the most by mentioning it in your biography or you can just not care about it at all...

Crusaders:

http://i.imgur.com/ITptdvZ.jpg

In the beginning they had the best of intentions, however, after their leader became powerful, he became arrogant and hypocrytical. Because of this he started forcing every citizen to pay monthly fees and do everything for him. People intended to leave the land, however, the Crusaders have been placed all throughout the frontiers making it impossible for the citizens to leave. The land overall has alot of treasure making it the second richest on the island.

The Crusaders are neutral with Clarity and enemies with Vermile's Empire and the Guardians.

They own around 50% of the sea area around the island.

Guardians:

http://i.imgur.com/Cpg0WiJ.jpg

The only faction that actually has good intentions. The purpose of Guardians is to evacuate every citizen in any warzone to their teritorry. They wish to save everyone from the war by taking all the land for themselves and then making sure nothing like this happens ever again. They have the biggest amount of people of all factions, however they don't have enough money to simultaneously defend themselves and keep all the people in the land alive, making them a very poor faction.

The Guardians are enemies with the Crusaders and Vermile's Empire and neutral with Clarity.

They've taken over land in a way that they can connect with all the other factions and making it possible for people to evacuate in their lands

Clarity:

http://i.imgur.com/aGjAsj6.jpg

The worst faction in terms of land, but the best in terms of diplomacy and money. They intend to get a friendly relationship with every faction and then take over their lands and people. They've already managed to become allies with Vermile's Empire and are currently trying to become allies with the Crusaders. Thanks to their diplomacy, they can travel through the lands of Vermile's Empire without any issues and that way they can communicate with each other on both sides of the island.

Clarity is allies with Vermile's Empire and neutral with the Crusaders and the Guardians.

Their land is split in 2 parts that are both located on both opposite sides of the island, that's why their priority is keeping a friendly relationship with Vermile's Empire so that both of the sides can communicate.

Vermile's Empire:

http://i.imgur.com/SXG77Mr.jpg

Vermile himself is good at leading and tactics. He owns almost 50% of all the land and has the strongest army. He considers Clarity as his puppets since they do anything he says and he allows them to travel through his large landscape in return. He intends to take all the land and money for himself. He uses most of his money for his and his army's well-being and weapons, does not spend money on food for his citizens, however, unlike Crusaders, does not force his people to pay monthly fees and work for him.

Vermile's Empire is allies with Clarity, unfriendly with the Crusaders and enemies with the Guardians.

Not only does he own almost 50% of the land, but 50% of the sea around the island aswell.

Other:

http://i.imgur.com/6pvGejn.jpg

This isn't really a faction, but more like a piece of land with a couple minor leaders who don't intend to take over anything. They have neutral relationships with all factions, allow them to pass through their land, but don't allow them to fight each other in that land. They mainly focus on keeping everyone on their land happy by keeping them as far away from any kind of war as possible, they're doing a somewhat good job at it.

This is the way factions are distributed on the map:

http://i.imgur.com/UvAuJnh.jpg

Click this for better quality!

As you can see, cities like Scrive, Erglania, Brance, Sulde, Candove, Ettania and Aucenia suffer huge inconveniences because they happen to be right between factions that are enemies with each other, everyone living there is not happy and is trying to get away, however the armies of most of the factions don't allow them to.

Alot of questions you have about the plot, people, magic, e.t.c might get answered while you're in your journey.

So, to those of you who are still reading this...good luck...I guess...

I look to everyone in the pub, "Trouble this way comes, everyone out the back, we have three crusaders, I'm gonna say two mages and a seven foot fighter, I doubt any of you want to deal with those so I'm gonna fight them if they're looking for one, I don't want any of ye to get hurt so please move out back. Azel!" I call out behind the bar, "I suppose you'd rather I fight them outside then in here right?" I ask almost rhetorically.

Zexed (wookie1196)

"Black knight? I don't recall anyone mentioning a black knight. As for my husband's supplies - they're mostly weapons. Swords, spears, knifes, maces and such. He keeps them in the basement nearby the shop, so that random visitors don't steal the weapons and use them against him. I was actually planning to request a small percentage of your earnings until I find a job that's good enough." she says as she places the teacup on the furnace: "Working as a shopkeeper is extremely hard and takes a lot of one's time. I have kids that I'm supposed to take care of, it's the only reason I didn't want to take care of the shop myself. So I just want to make sure if you actually agree to doing such a job."

A new morning appears. The first thing you notice is the cloudy weather outside. Your sister approaches you. She uses sign language to communicate with you.

She requests for you to wait as she opens the door, immediately 2 soldiers enter your house. One of them pushes your sister against the wall and the other one approaches you, grabbing out a knife.

Jake Nero (JACKinbigletters)

"Of course! If my pub gets destroyed, I'll use your house as a replacement!" Azel says while smiling. Everyone leaves the pub and now it's just you and the 3 Crusaders.

"Ah, you're the one we're looking for. We're not here to fight you, we simply wish to deliver you to our general, he requests something from you." says one of the men in robes.

"I'd rather not go with you, I prefer neutral territory, somewhere not near here and somewhere not near your boys in red, gotta look after myself and all. Sorry for the mistrust but you know, you won't quit trying to kill me you know." I say shrugging my shoulders, "Look how about we meet in the plaza in the center of town in twenty minuets, eh? That way you try anything you have the other guilds to deal with, and if I try something you're not too far from home, deal?"

"Yes I do, until either one of your kids matures enough to take over, or I find someone more qualified that you and I can both trust. Until then, do you mind if my brother and father work with me? I could even make an apprentice of one of your kids if you or they want." I say as I relax into my seat

Jake Nero (JACKinbigletters)

"We were specifically requested to escort you to our fortress and use force if necessary. That's all we know." says the man with a rather serious expression: "So it depends on whether you allow us to escort you there or not."

Zexed (wookie1196)

"Whoever works with you does not concern me. What does concern me, however, is your suggestion." she says as she sits down on the chair next to yours: "In a way I wish to agree because my child will then be able to defend himself easily. But I don't want to agree because he has never used magic before. Most people who use magic for the first time tend to die immediately. I'm just too scared to experience a death of another important family member."

"Really the fortress? Okay here's what I'm willing to do, I'll come in, no problems, won't even make a smart comment on our way, cause you no hassle at all, as long as one of you heads back before we arrive and convinces the guards and all your extra soldiers to not come near us, if I see a single uniform besides yours or your commanders, and his bodyguards because I know he isn't going to stay in a room without any with me, then the deal is off, okay? I think that's fair no?" I say shrugging again, "I mean, they don't have to leave the fort just stay away from me, because if anyone makes a jeer at me or moves to attack I will retaliate in the most efficient way possible." At the word efficient I stand up and crack my spine, "We got a deal?"

"He needn't learn magic immediately. I can simply teach him how to defend himself with different weapons and increase his physical endurance. And then, after training for a while, say a year, and he learns his physical limits, we can attempt to learn what element he is attuned to. This plan is up to you and can be changed or cancelled by you at any time. Again, this is all up to you."

Jake Nero (JACKinbigletters)

"Our general is overall an honorable person. If anything, he may have already told every Crusader in the city to ignore you as long as you safely enter the fortress and reach home." the mage says in a friendly tone.

The walking speed of the 3 soldiers is rather slow. Within 5 minutes you've all reached the part of the city that belongs to the Crusaders. The view here seems to be pure misery. On your left side the Crusaders are beating citizens, hitting them with their shields and slicing their heads off. Whereas on the other side, you see an entire line of hundreds of homeless people begging for money. Women are crying as their children consist of nothing but bones and skin and the Crusaders are making it all worse by spitting on the people and making fun of them.

After 10 minutes of walking through the streets of agony you finally reach the fortress. The 3 soldiers escort you into a dark room in the 2nd floor. The room seems to be having a table in the middle of it and a couple bookshelves as well. There's 1 person standing nearby the desk. It's the man in the white armor, the one who you gave the knocked out soldier to earlier. The 3 soldiers leave the room, it's now only you and the man in the white armor. No bodyguards, no soldiers, just you and this person.

Zexed (wookie1196)

"Well if we're talking about physical training then sure, though my child is only 2 years old right now, so your help in that regard won't be necessary. Well, that's all I wanted to ask from you. Is there anything else you wanted to know from me?" she says as she gets up and pours tea into 2 cups.

Juni (Shoeminor)

The soldier then seems to be yelling at you. It's not quite clear what he wants to say. Your sister seems to have kicked one of the soldiers in the face out of stress and knocked him out. She then takes the soldier's weapon and seems to be attacking the one approaching you. He immediately notices your sibling and punches her. She seems to be fine and continues attempting to harm the soldier while he focuses on defending himself. Your sister asks you for help using sign language as she fights.

I don't sit down and just stand where I am without initiating any conversation, I simply watch him, unblinking, waiting. He who speaks first is always at a disadvantage. I think to myself.

"Only if there was anything else I co do to help you. Your husband gave his life to save mine, so I feel indebted to him and since he's dead, I will do everything I can to help you and your son in any way I can. I cannot begin to express how sorry I am that this happened and I will find out why they decided to come after him when it was me they wanted." I say as I grab the tea cup and take a sip

So I'm interested in RPing for a couple reasons, mainly in order to help hone my writing skills and probably itch my creativity. However, I want to note that at certain days I might not be all that active and maybe in the future I might leave.

If that's okay with you, I'd still like to join, even if only for a bit.

Location: Brance
Money: [Don't fill this up]
Character's Name and surname: Louis Alcazar

Appearance: 6'1 in height. Looks to be a youthful 19, though looks can be deceiving. Slim body, but with toned muscles instead of bulky, similar to ones that one would find on swimmers or gymnasts. Shoulder length brown hair that's swept back to reveal the forehead. Sharp eyebrows with energetic eyes. Sharp nose and slightly tan yet flawless skin. One could spot an earring on his left ear's helix. Generally prefers comfortable clothing that could be used for both partying and brawling. Always wears a goofy smile.

Personality: Louis Alcazar loves women, drinking, and parties. Not a man where one would consult for serious advice, he is simply somebody who endorses in the pleasures of life. Conflict? War? Death? It's not that he's oblivious to them, but rather, they're all cycles of life. As long as humans are, in his opinion, as 'hideous' as they are, there will always be conflict. War. Death. It's a never ending cycle. So his logic is, if he can't end the suffering, then why not simply enjoy the good times while it lasts? The ups in life are only heightened by the downs. Due to this, Louis is quite neutral when considering other factions. He'll oppose anything that'll ruin his immediate freedom, but doesn't really have a cause per se. Louis is a sort of a jokester, and fails to take certain situations 100% serious at times on top of his charismatic attitude that draws crowds wherever he goes. Despite that, he's more than meets the eye, as his perceptiveness and ingenuity often catches people off guard who mistake him for being a simple bumbling idiot.

(This is going to be a long bio)
Biography: When Louis was born, he didn't have a surname. His parents had died in a conflict between the Guardians and Vermille's Empire in Brance when he was a newborn baby. He had only known a life in the run-down orphanage filled with countless other children that many in society considered to be worthless. Even the orphanage could barely sustain the children's livelihood, as mysterious sludge void of nutritional value was fed every single day and rags for clothes were distributed. Indeed, he might as well have been thrown out into the streets. But through this pain and hardship, Louis learned many talents.

Pick pocketing, gambling, stealing, and dealing became a part of Louis' every day life in order to eat better food and wear better clothes. It was an 'every man for himself' kind of world, and it would be a lie to say that Louis was a stranger to murder.

Then, a certain strange noble from a faction adjacent to Brance showed up, and after taking pity on Louis, had adopted him as his son at the age of 12. It helped that the noble was a kindhearted man who could not bear any children with his wife due to being infertile, a side effect of using too much magic in his younger years. Therefore, Louis became almost like a son to the noble, and the noble took him back to Vilenia to live with him.

There, the art of the noble was beaten into Louis. He learned everything from learning polite manners and politics to learning maths and history to even sword fighting and military stratagem. More importantly, that noble taught Louis kindness, compassion, and love.

And all of this ended in a blink of an eye when that same man, who had given Louis another chance at living, suddenly fell ill and died when Louis reached his 20th birthday. Now, Louis was left alone with the noble's wife.

However, she feared that the inheritance would go to Louis due to her husband's fondness for the young boy, and hired assassin's to kill him before the noble man's will could be read.

Louis barely escaped with his life, and managed to arrive from Vilenia back to his hometown of Brance. He has decided to become a mercenary of some sorts, or perhaps a simple merchant. He knows not what will happen, but the only thing he needs is a cold pint of beer and a fine looking woman and he's set.

I honestly feel as if this character is too OP, but we need someone aligned with a faction. I may also drop out periodically (sorry in advance).

Location: Credd. Emperor Vermile's Palace.

Money: [Don't fill this up]

Character's Name and surname: Name Unavailable: Title - The Alabaster Princess, Nickname - Ala

Appearance: Purely white hair, very milky and white skin, light gray eyes, silvery, translucent, but highly visible lashes. Thin brows, that are also white. Likes to wear a white fitting one piece jumpsuit with black lines running down the arms and legs. May also wear a sheer coat that goes down to her feet.

Personality: Likes to think that her personality consists of all the extremes rolled together into one. Some days she can be altruistic, a pacifist, and motherly, while other days, she may decide to lay waste to a whole city out of boredom or because she heard someone insult her in a petty way behind her back. She hates war and will never kill, but prefers to cause permanent psychological damage or light physical harm where the goal is a state of peace or order.

Biography: A daughter of Emperor Vermile. She was the product of an affair between Vermile and one of his many midwives and was kept in the palace only as a servant until the age of 6. Vermile would constantly beat her mother after intercourse (while Ala watched) until one day, he killed Ala's mother with a hit to the head that was too hard. When Ala saw this, something deep inside her broke, and she used her unique power, Evince, to project her rage and grief into Vermile's mind, making their minds one for a short time. She forced him to kneel with Evince and reached inside him to break his capacity for sexual attraction. After escaping her grip, Vermile recognized the usefulness of Evince in a monarch, and named Ala a legitimate daughter of his. Ala then undertook, for the next 5 years, a 12 hour, 7 days a week magical study, in which she cycled through all the elements, mastering them one by one, at the order of Vermile. At the age of 12, after mastering all the elements in an attempt to gain her father's approval, Ala was ordered by Vermile into solitary magical advancement study. With a more subtle use of Evince, she could tell that this was to get rid of her, and Ala decided to become so powerful that when Vermile died, she would force her way into the throne and make headway to ending the war, which she viewed as logically futile. One day, while studying magic, she wrote a tome that allowed one to fuse the properties of different magical elements together, and began to show her father what she could do with liquid fire, electrocuting shadows, and poisonous void. He neglected Ala's study, and told her to come back with something that could kill all magicians and non-magic soldiers if she ever wanted a chance at being named heir apparent to the empire. Ala, after 2 years in private, discovered a means for her to transfer energy using MP, and found that she could control all types of energy. This was only possible through balance though, and she found that the only reliable source of energy for her new ability was the godly dome. She named her new magic Energem. It took a psychological toll on Ala, however, and she began to believe that the dome was speaking to her, and gave it a deified status in her mind. The dome "told" her that Vermile was the cause of all trouble on Tulse's island, and that killing him was not the solution, but to erase everything that his immediate ancestry had ever built. She began to gather a private guerrilla militia in Sulde, made of 4 teams of 4 people and named Ferox Colpa, whose goal is to silently erase high ranking officials and insert Guardian and non-alligned friendly politicians in the empty spaces. She has alliances built among the Others, who know her as the Goddess of Appraisal, for her ability to identify a person's max MP and element using Evince. Her coup is slowly building, and at the age of only 15, she is currently aiming to overthrow Vermile within the space of a year before killing all of her step-brothers and step-sisters. She is constantly looking for magic (and only magic) users for her team.
