Do you guys think there are any good reasons to award runner ups the Quest as well?
I personally think it could be a good idea, it's really hard to get into even runners up Hahaha
One contest during one month, so it can take months for achieving the quest more ever if it's only for the first one.
Furthermore the quest was designed to be deserved to be a judge too, option isn't available at this moment ^.^ So maybe the runners up can make a voice for final winner ? Like sir legendary voice = 2 points and runners up = 1 point ? Admitting 2-3 runners up it could be interesting in my opinion
Maybe rebalancing rewards ? What's your point SirLegendary ? It's your contest after all Hahaha
I think only the winner should be rewarded the quest, because there's going to be many more chances to win. The runner up gets a merit anyways.
Hmmm so I guess we should go with only the winners getting the Quest?
Agreed. Furthermore, the description of the quest is "You judged or won a poetry contest". We should follow that ^^
Hmm as for a comparison artists contest quest is deserved for all winners not only the best (armatar one) I think the whole point was to participate and get into the winners, it's the way I understand it,
As for the judge part I'm ok with that but what's the plan ? If only one people judge all time it's not really making sense in my opinion because the quest just be deserved for judging one time and that's all ? That's why I suggested vote on runners up with less " power" than the contest owner.
User who will be on the winners for the first time could get the quest and next time a merit ? Maybe two for grand winner ?
Any feedback ?
Hmm yes, but I assume that since everyone received a merit there, the Quest was awarded to the top few entry winners (And not runner ups to boot). For the current poetry contest, only the runner up and the winner gets the merit, and the winner gets the additional prize of the Quest (My view). Open to other views if any.
We used to swap judges every once in a while as judges got busy in real life. So if Legend appoints another judge when he gets busy, that person will also get the Quest.
That's ok ^^ it make sense I agree !
I don't think so ^^ but don't worry your's was merited at least it's what I think and I'm sure SirLegendary share my opinion too Hahaha
It is possible, that's why I was asking for views.
I do apologise @KatPryde . May you win next time!
Well, I can only assume I can't win twice in a row, but here's something anyway.
Changing of the Season
Spring is but the cruelest season in which to voice despondent thoughts.
Rain washed shadows cover the corpses in the garden,
Driving out Winter's warm paralysis. That sweet suffering embrace.
I remember the snow well, how it dazzled upon your brow
A purer filigree crown I have never seen. But, thinking upon it now,
As the rain pours outside my window, casting most devious shadows,
That's the problem with purity.
Taken as honest work, as a think untarnished by the ravages
And skeletal hand of Time. That glorious blanket of white gems,
Offers such iron certainty. Then, one may so boldly ask,
"What else should we strive for, if not cold-hearted certainty?"
To which the answer should always be, "The truth."
Look past that warm blanket of snow and gaze into the cruelness of Spring.
Gaze at these rain washed shadows, hear the sound of damp earth,
Pressing closer to the floorboards. Lie no more asleep, dreaming
Of your supposed honesty. No truth is self evident, nothing is gained
Through hibernation, except that clinging mealy existence.
And should you win, should you clamber free of the sodden, torn blanket
Of Winter, where certainty lies like a daggers point; should you endure
Spring's cruel and carnal embrace. Mayhap we will meet again
Upon the lake shore in the unrelenting sun of Summer,
Where the scattering of certainty is absolute. Like fear,
In the handful of dust. And rain, coming upon the waste land.
i noticed it says the round 1 winner was "A Day in the Life" by Doombreed.
i looked up the round 1 winner and it is actually "Carnival" by Doombreed.
am i missing something, or is there a reason to the name being wrong?
@popington, you're reading the theme of the round, not the title of the poem.
for some reason i thought that the first round was on love?
You live your life in search of truth, honesty, and love
You want to live your life happily and as gently as a pure white dove.
Soon enough you realize it cannot be so
There's ups and downs, grief, and woe.
You give your soul and expect the same
Then think it's too much and feel, well, lame.
You go through life making friends and foes
And sometimes you've just had it from your head to your toes.
You realize you end friendships because they lack honesty
But then you gain new beginnings and purity.
You learn the meaning of honesty and trust
While you watch the old things turn to dust.
Being true to yourself and to others is hard it's true
But this is what real and strong relationships do.
You must look at your own honest ability
Before you can prepare for the consequences brought upon by true honesty.
Well I tried lol. My poems will always rhyme because that's the only way I can do it lol. I really like poetry and usually take more time on writing but since it's a contest I feel rushed lol
