I got one of these so I am good to go.
You're an idiot.
Man, this thing died. Pity.
Let's make ourselves another average scenario, by me. I'll try to make it good, I just need something to make this somewhat alive again.
===================================================
You start out in the large, dense metropolitan area of Houston, TX. While this area is not very big, it has an enormous population cluster, as does the surrounding neighborhoods and ghettos. The city of Houston and it's metropolitan area is enormous, a full four million soon-to-be-dead souls.
This time, it's long before what could be called the end of the world. This is just when the outbreak is starting, with only a few Goliath's to contend with, but chewing on everything in sight. People are now seeing their friends and family eaten alive by the monstrosities, and are running for dear life. The government hasn't done anything yet, and are barely even receiving news of the problem. People are scared, and running like death itself is after them. The whole core is going into a panic; executives are being evacuated, people are running like hell, screaming is nonstop, and blood is being spilled as zombies are grabbing hold of whoever passes by and as people are getting crushed in the panic.
You have no choice but to follow the crowd, lest being trampled and killed. You're the average Joe, t-shirt, jeans, light jacket, running shoes. However, you have a little secret: You have a gun. A 9mm Barretta, loaded with the full twelve rounds, and you know how to use it. Very well, in fact. Any zombie that comes near you will have a date with permanent death.
However, you're best off getting teh shiznit outta there. You can take the path of least resistance: The I45, north or south. The I10 goes east and west, and is another easy path. Both are high off the ground for a long time, and have service roads of either side of them. However, they will more than likely be flooded with traffic from the mayhem in the core, both the main and service roads. You can easily walk, but it will be chaos. People will be going with you, and zeds will be following you. The other route is through the surface streets, which is virtually suicide, but will be far less chaotic. Zeds will make their home in the buildings, however.
Now, get you a*s to safety.
And no, it's not as simple as "go along the road until I get there." It's a full 15-30 miles in any direction before you get out of the metropolitan area.
