It's an amazing book. Unfortunately we can't really find someone who can write an epic like Tolkien anymore.

"The Silmarillion" is great, but the best IMHO is The lord of the rings, a trilogy that takes place in an imaginary world - the Middle Earth (for anyone who doesn't know it). Sorry if I don't write down here the plot but it's really hard to explain it in few words.
It's the best novel I've ever read! Tolkien was a great writer. He created a whole epic literature on his own.. All of his books are fascinating!

7.5-8/10 Its good but too much fillers and padding to everything also it takes him along time to write the books. lastly it's not really a trilogy anymore.

Artemis fowl series.

^ very true

The Hobbit by J.R.R Tolkien. it basically sets up the background for the AMAZING LOTR series.

The hobbit was pretty good. I liked the LOTR series better though so 7.7/10.

If you are a fan of the Tolkein books I suggest you read Terry Brooks. He does just as great of a job as Tolkein at creating an immersive plot and world, and he actually has dozens of books based on his characters and world, enough to keep you busy for a very very long time.
