Well this has been suggested many times in the past. ArmorGames would like to stick with the medieval theme. Allowing users to upload there own would mean that the moderators would constantly have to watch out for vulgar or offensive images. It is best left alone. There is a wide selection of armatars to choose from, you just need to unlock them by earning a certain amount of armor points.
I think that would be a bad idea. A lot of people would put things that shouldn't be allowed as there armatar, making it a lot more work for the mods and administrator having to go though and find these.
As I said before, the armatars are uploaded as the artist finished them. There really isn't a rhyme or reason to their release. I can tell you however, that he is working on finishing up the art on a big batch of them. I am not sure how much longer it will take, but I can assure you that they look awesome ;-)
