Metal draws my interest more, but every type of music draws from the musics before it. So much in metal is inspired by bands that started out as being concidered rock. (Genesis as a MAJOR example.)
Metal is what I listen to, but the rest of my family is into stuff like The Guesswho.
Metal Fav: In Flames Rock: Rise Against
In the end I like metal more but I still got a place in my heart for rock.
By the way disturbed is one of the worse metal bands. And system of a down is nu-metal, although i do like them lots of people consider them to be too light to be considered metal.
Definately classic rock, because metal is just too hard for me. Songs like "Sweet Child o' Mine" and "Free Bird" (just to name a few of thousands) are songs that spark my interest. I just can't get into hard rock, though, because it just doesn't seem to have a flow; In other words, it's random guitar parts in the background, slamming drums, and low, deep hardly-singing singers. That's why I prefer classic rock. ^_^
I think LInkin Park is considered Nu-Metal. Nu-Metal is absically really light popular metal, that sometimes throws in some inspiratiosn from rap music. Or you might call them rapcore, like rage against the machine, but I don't think you could get away with it since they don't always do rap in their music....
And I do like some classic rock, like The Who.
And can someone tell me whats so great about AC/DC. Personally I find them way overrated.
