I'd technically arguee that we are in WWIII right now. The vast majority of countries in the worlsd are involved in the "War on Terror." WWIII doesn't have to involve nuclear weapons, it just has to involve the majority of nations fighting in some way.

Anyways, The war will eventually happen, we will get too dependant on oil and we are going to compete for it. We are animals, we have a natural tendancy to compete for things, mates, food, water, shelter, etc. When the oil supply gets low enough, the world's two biggest economies are going to battle it out, most likely America and China. Well we have the North Atlantic Trade Agreement, which means when we declare war, about 13 other countries are obligated to help. I'm sure that China has some agreements with a few countries, and they are going to drag them in, just like how WW I started. Eventually it will go to nuclear and bio war and we are going to keep shooting nukes at each other pretty much until the entire earth is a mass of disease and radio activity. thus, ending the human race.

I'm sorry to say, but Russia has more oil than China, and are currently getting tons of cash off of it.Truthfully if we were to start a war with anyone it would be them.That is even the theory of alot of games nowadays like Front lines:Fuel of War, and Tom Clancy's End War.Of course China would probably be involved in some way anyways,and also the war in Afghanistan actually has a bit more of a purpose since the terrorists are now taking over whole entire villages, and and such.Barack O'Bama wants to move the troops from Iraq to Afghanistan where we they are needed right now.Also I'm sure that we would not be stupid enough to go into nuclear warfare, and end the world.I'm sure if the United Nations does their job right that we won't have that type of problem.I'm sure that we will find something to replace fossil fuels before any of this happens,just try not to get to make any Doom Theory's or what not.
Why would we go to war with China when they make only 3.73 million barrels of oil a day? The Saudis are producing 11 million a day, tiny Kuwait is pushing 3 million a day. Both of those nations would be a piece of cake compared to invading China.

The US is ranked third in the world when it comes to the amount of domestic oil deposits(russia is first, Saudi Arabia second) available for drilling. We should access that first, then take care of the rest of the problem.

Well, I don't completely support this war. BUT, you have to see that if we get out, things are going to get bad. Violence will increase dramatically. And it will go back to how it used to be in 2001. If they get out now, thousands to young american soliders would have lost their life for nothing.

Exactly, if we get out now, the cause of the trillions of dollars, lives of good men and women, and fuels and metal spent fighting this thing is for not. We need to stay in this thing or nuke the entire middle east region to the ground.
I agree dragoncrusher, we need to stick around in Afghanistan until we have killed Osama Binladin and its a positive that it will stay safe there.
But we also need to be assured that we will have allies, China hates us and Russia hates us, and those are just 2 of them, the entire world hates us. Because we have invaded and stepped in where we didn't belong we have created many enemies. Sure we have Canada and Mexico, but the entire middle east hates us, not to mention Asia. WWIII wont be a war with violence... it will be an Economic war. And if that happens the next world power will be China.
The Taliban, al-Qaeda, and Saddam Hussein were all allies before as well. We gave the Taliban $40 million to stop opium production and to help in the war on drugs. We gave al-Qaeda billions to fight off the Soviets. We gave Hussein tons of support in the Iran-Iraq war.

Obama supports the war in Afghanistan as do 99% of American politicians. We aren't leaving Afghanistan any time in the near future.
