Population increase is not a concern. All population experts agree that the world's population will peak somewhere between 9-12 billion, then it will plummet. Not due to starvation, but because of industrialization. When a nation industrializes, the cost of children shoots sky high. I poor nations, it is actually profitable to have children. They start working at 5 or 6 years old and bring in income. But since more and more nations are industrializing, people cannot afford children like they used to. The population will plummet, and under-population will be a problem.
Technically speaking if the worst global warming predictions are true and we continue following the path we have been the the Earth could become inhospitable to human life in around five centuries.
If you want the world to live a lot longer, honestly: screw the enviroement and forget about it.
Go and have a chat with the Taliban, Binladin and his minions, North Korea, and Burma and tell them to get there acts together, but in the first two's case, just go and blow there asses off. Shoot then talk as i say.
But as for North Korea and newly-added-to-the-list-of-threats China, you should be panicking in your sleep about there nuclear capabilites. Also Iran for that matter.
No idea, I suppose when every country in the world comes to some disagreement and there is some huge battle and the world implodes in some death cloud or something.
most of the possibilities that we will die out was formed by us so it is gonna be...a lot sooner than expected...if we last there will be another ice age (only covering 1/3 of the earth), the continents becoming a super contanant again, yada yada yada even though that would take like another 300,000,000-500,000,000 million years...ill give us...50 years...the world could be dead by then though
The world's not going to die, any situation we could possibly create could be found naturally, and life will continue despite our best efforts even if it's just simple single celled life. That doesn't mean that we'll continue with it.
Maybe a God will renew our resources, or all together reset the universe?
Surely is a possibility you cant deny :P
Maybe its already happened once or twice, or a billion? It could be a competition between "Gods" to see which can get the best score, that is the one who is able to have their creation endure the most?
Endless possibilities.
Also, does it matter whether we would be wiped out today or in a billion years?
