I've seen topics on the forums about which video game is the best. But I haven't seen anyone ask which genre is the best. So I will ask. Please if your reading this, just think of what you like to see in a game, violence, adventure, horror, and so on. Feel free to say as much as you want about which genre is the best and why.
Wow. I this got more comments then I expected... I made a typo in the title, so I made a new topic like this... But this one has way more views. xD I don't think I ever answered the question.
I'd have to say first person shooters. I escpecially like Bioshock. That game was amazing. Amazing graphics, amazing gameplay, amazing storyline. Simply amazing. =)
Best genre of games for me would be a action/adventure titles (Zelda, Metroid, etc). These were the titles that i grew up with and have the fondest memories over. I do give FPS credit as right now that is my genre of choice, but nothing feels quite as good as completing a temple in Zelda or finding that new upgrade in Metroid that lets you go to that new area. Ahh...good times.
