Okay, let's break this down.

In an X vs X contest, no outside variables involved, Sonic is definitely better. Mario is a fat plumber that sits on people, but Sonic has thorns all over his back, so even if Mario did, he'd be pretty sliced up. Mario was first, but Sonic is the best. I don't want to hear none of that "If Mario had a fire flower" garbage, because we are not talking about fire flower mario, just mario.
