Whenever a movie gets remade, it is either jazzed up with special effects, or just redone to make money. For example, Disturbia is a remake of Rear Window. Because Disturbia was made for more people living in the present, it has more blood and gore. My point is, do you think that movie remakes are worse/better than the actual movie because it has been modernized?

Feel free to use many examples...let's try to make this an interesting conversation.

did you know I Am Legend was a remake of a black and white movie from the 50s, called Omega Man?

I like remakes, like you said, they beef them up with better FX, they usually have better acting. I can't think of any remakes right now, but give me a minute...

You can't remake Nightmere on Elm Street, everyone knows about this film...this is what I mean! The remakes stel the light of the originals.

To Florgee2~

Really? That's a nice piece of info...I'll have to watch it.

thepyro222 said that remakes have better acting and effects...so what do the remakes have?

It depends, some movies just can't be remade. Some can, but still rock even with it's modernized counterpart, and some just suk compared to it, or the other way around.

But then again, you can't really tell what movie can be remade, well you can sorta, but you can't tell how you'll look at both of them in the end. So really, it can't hurt to try sometimes =)

You said that when they remake a movie, they add special effects and have better acting. Does that mean that you think that the remakes are better...or is there something that the original movie has that the remake does not?
