ya they did ruin eragon, they took away so much of the realy stuff and added stuff that hadn't happened, i do enjoy the harry potter movies though, but i agree i've read most of the books (except a couple harry potters) and they are better
Honestly, I don't like Harry Potter. I just don't. On the other hand, I love the Eritage Trilogy. But, when I look at the movies, it's the other way around (kinda). I sort of enjoy the HP movies, but Eragon was just horrible, definitely one of the worst movies I've ever seen.
While I see that most of you hate Harry Potter, you guys should know that as far as movies off books go, Harry Potter was one of the best. Most of the time movies will cut out major parts and try to include as much action as possible. While Harry Potter had a lot of action, almost all the important bits were included.
Eragon, on the other hand, was downright horrible *shudders*. The story was completely changed, ruining the setup for Eldest. Not to mention the fact that Arya didn't even have pointed ears. Probably the worst movie I have ever seen.
Anyways, while we are talking about movies off books I would like to say something to all Terry Pratchett fans. A movie of the Hogfather was made, it's three hours long, and it keeps almost everything the same as the book. (A bit of old news, but still usefull)
Also, could people please state why they think the movie was good or bad? Otherwise this topic will pretty much be a spam topic.
Well the producers of Eragon pretty much ruined it for themselves. They killed off a lot of characters that are big roles in the second book so if they make a second movie its going to have nothing at all to do with the book
really. i absolutely love the eraagon books, and was ecstatic when i first heard a movie was coming out. however, once i saw a trailer for the fisrt time, i was so disappointed i never even went to see it. btw, the third book comes out this september! i think
