I Thought it was really funny, playing on many Vietnam War era movie cliches. It was written really cleverly, and I love all of the twists and turns the story made. And how in the end everyone is different from how you thought they initially were. In general thought it was very entertaining and very funny.
You've seen it?! Wow, youre really lucky. It's gonna be a great movie, I can tell, it's got Jack Black, whos my favorite actor, Robert Downey Jr., whos my second favorite, and Ben Stiller! I can't wait..
One of the funniest movies I've seen in a while. Ben Stiller's movies have been getting better lately. I hope he keeps it up because he has a seemingly endless good idea havingness brain.
Yeah, Ben is really trying to improve his image on his movies. Robert is just on fire. First Iron Man now Tropic Thunder. Jack Black has always been a hit or miss. The person who really needs to improve this year is Will Ferall.
Jack Black was funny in the movie! "I left my vitamins at the hotel"
RDJ sang the theme song to the Jeffersons (best scene in the movie probably)
Ben Stiller played a mentally challenged person and his wife made a cameo too! Pretty funny
Nick Nolte and Danny McBride played a pivotal role in the movie; their scenes weren't exactly funny, but good enough.
Matthew Mc...Mc-on-a-hey played Stiller's agent, which is very reminiscent of his role in Two For The Money
Oh, and the biggest surprise is Tom Cruise. I didn't even recognize the man until the end of the movie! Kind of makes you forget about couch jumping, alien believing stuff.
Haha Ya Tom Cruises role makes you actually forget hes a weirdo, and think of him as a funny dude with a sense of humor. lol
The movie is rated R because there is a bunch of cursing, and a few drug references. And there are some sexual references also. A lot more than Ben stiller's previous movies.
I haven't seen it, but I can see it cause it is rated R. My parents may get it on DVD in some...months...cause they can't go to the movies because of work.
I thought it was gory at the beggining when his guts were cut open (I'm only 11), but then it had a majoir change of derection with funnyness (if that's a word).

I found that part really funny and of course that line he said "I think I can push 'em back in!" I enjoyed the movie. Kinda gross at some points like when Tugg (Ben Stiller) licks the blood that he thinks is fake off that one head. Jack Black was great with his addiction but really shined at the end of the movie. Robert Downey played an Aussie award winner who plays Osiris in the movie and very well. And Tom Cruise's scenes made me laugh. So I would recommend watching it as long as you can watch movies that are 15+.
It was very observant of the flaws of not just war movies and actors, but Hollywood and the entertainment industry in general. It may be seen as offensive, and many people, especially my famly were shocked and appalled, my mom calling it "the most foul atrocity ever commited on the big-screen, but when you look past that, you realize that it is just a comedy, and anyone who takes it so seriously and goes so far as to protest the showing of the film are just wasting their time and should go back to watching their tame, unassuming romantic comedys.
