I hope this link posts:

Leading Australian evangelist exposed as fraud

I don't mean to bash religion at all here. But I do mean to even the playing level a little in a topic that can be quite sensitive. I regard this as an example of how religion, which can be the vehicle to much compassion and extraordinary feats of humanitarianism, can also be the unsuspecting vehicle to a corruption, be it of will, spirit or Satan's doing.

This example is particularly significant because it lies at the center of the single largest and most active Christian network in Australia. But when you think about it, it's not really that much different from, say, spamming to get extra AP.

Christians are WAY less likely to be corrupt than Athiests

Why? Just because religion teaches morals. Some of the most despicible people that have lived have sworn to be religious, and there just as many athiests who have been bad aswell. At the end of the day we are all human and money is the root of all evil. The church puts certain people in positions of power and they abuse it. Thats not to say that atheists arent corrupt either, but i dont think that religious people are way less likely to be corrupt.

evangelical hax?

Its meant to say hoax.

A PENTECOSTAL PASTOR BEING A FAKE?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!(note: sarcasm was used in the previous phrase)
The only reason this is big news is because the hillsong band is soooo freaking huge right now...and the music is sooo inspirational. If it had happened at any other point in this churches history, no one in the rest of the world would of cared. Because as i said, hillsong church is pentecostal, and looking at the history of that church denom. this is nothing new...

lol, at least some people are familiar with the commercial machine that is the Church in all its guises...

What is surprising to me is that Evangelicalism is that prominent in Australia! Who knew?

I did. Google Hillsong sometime. From my background, there is a significant push towards the Pentecostal, spiritual side of evangelism spearheaded by targeting youth groups with rock-concert presentation and youthful zealotry.

However, Christians are WAY less likely to be corrupt than Athiests. Anyway, sorry, but I really don't like when people generalize.

Da-boom tish.
