Umm well I hate metal all together and never heard thrash metal. But being how death metal isn't even considered music to me..well Actually I say none is good.
Well I realize that theres skill involved but its not like I would ever consider these guys like top guitarists..From what I hear they play the same 5 notes as fast as they can and the singer..is not even singing. But thats just my opinion,the only metal I listen to is system of a down.
thrash metal because I hate death metal and I only like one thrash metal band, the band being slipknot

Anyway, I like death metal much more than thrash. You can be much more diverse with death metal - it can go from absolutely brutal (Cannibal Corpse, Nile, Kartikeya), to more progressive stuff (Gojira, Cynic, Lykathea Aflame), and more melodic (Unleashed, Septic Flesh, Bloodbath). Meanwhile, Thrash is stuck in the rut of "lay fast and loud, shout and don't slow down". Not many bands deviate from the formula.
