First, I will post the overall rules, and then I will post the specifics about this week.

Original rules, as stated by Ubertuna:

It must fit the week's theme.
It must be submitted by the deadline.
It cannot have inappropriate language in it.
It cannot be stolen (if you plagiarize, we will find you).

Also:

The poem must be created for this contest
A user cannot win two weeks in a row (though everyone is welcome to submit every week!)
Only one submission per user will be accepted

As we all know, the winner will recieve a merit, and their poem will be featured on the _Poetry_ page.

OK, on to this week's topic...Again, we are having a style instead of a theme. Also, this week we are having TWO WEEKS to do it, instead of the usual one. Why? Because this will be an EPIC poem. Or, rather, a parody of an epic poem. Generally, epic poetry is very long, and tells the serious story of a heroic figure. Well, this week, the epic figure is YOU! Write a long poem (I'll leave the definition of 'long' up to you, but give it a good go) about the heroic story of you! It can be silly, serious, whatever... just have fun with it. You have two weeks, so have a great time!

Now I can see this shaping out to be about everything from loss to warfare to murder.

Nice open theme. I like it : )

The cavernous hole within
Eating me up inside
It would be painful, when
I still could feel pain
But oh, how I've tried
I'm still all numb
What have I done?
You jab me again
I feel not a thing
I learned my lesson from then
Not feeling, falling

Arw.

I might give this a shot...

A body cold
As if to shun
A body limp
And all was numb

A spirit gone
No life within
A crowd had gathered
Of all her kin

A lone young man
Head tilted to the sky
Emerged from the drove
Tears streaming from his eyes

Kneeling on the snow
Expressing his pain
Enduring the snow
And the freezing pain

He collapsed to the ground
And shut his eyes
Oblivious to the rest
Of the Agonized cries

Two bodies cold
As if to shun
Two bodies limp
And all was numb

Excuse the slightly mediocre quality, please. This is about my third poem ever.

This might not be my official one yet. But it'll be entered if it turns out nice : )

Numbness

How I see the simple night,
I am surely a complex blight.
I eat through many, just like acid,
But in my mind I'm just quite placid.

The feeling of death swallows us,
Riding to Hell, on a bus.
Unto death I grip them,
Unto them I will condemn.

Into my death I live my life,
I fill many full of strife.
With the fight we will not lose,
With this gift I will abuse.

The gift of power is truly mine,
As I blow you away, with a mine.
All through the field death grips many,
While they get naught a penny.

The poor live in simple death,
'Til they draw that final breath.
With my gift I grow all numb,
With my death I succumb.

In the end I feel dead,
In full I feel dread.
In the end I feel numb,
'Til I go to where I'm from.

To study a simple condition
The state of your being
doomed to painless perdition
observing, but not seeing

Taking, going, gone, replacing
Deleting, undoing, backspacing
scratching at the orihalcum casing
at the thought of lack of thoughts

paradoxical, haunting, painted in red
An equation, one variable too many
You read lips, but can't believe the unsaid
strikes like the dropping of a pin. A penny.

Just a one-cent piece
nothing more, nothing less
a quarter for it to cease
but the ATM's broken, no access
there's nothing to lie, nothing to confess
nothing but a bleeding absess
nothing but burning, freezing numbness

Sorry Nicho, I forgot your poem, then readded it in a later post which disappeared. So here it is.

Thousand miles apart,
Little angel I need you,
This long wait spells pain,
But love trumps the agony,
In silence I will suffer.

I see your touch against my skin,
but the feeling is pained and distant.
You say your happy and start too grin,
but your mouth looks fanged and mid-rant.

I see you beam with eyes glittering,
but it turns to that silent disapointment face.
My feelings are numb; cast away from this thing,
Your house has turned to a hovelly place.

This shiny feeling is dull and my push is a pull,
touch has abandoned me and left me numb.
My half empty cup is far from full,
but laying here numb it all seems too dumb.

Falling into Boredom and Routine.

Years pass like the grass
on the field that will always last
Never burn, never fall
Into the hell that tortures all

The numbness which pains me so
There is no answer which I could know
That could save me from this
And so I lie in this abyss

The indifference plagues my heart
Woe is just a part
Of mediocrity
I fear I shall never be free.

Please, save me from this routine
The sickness; so very obscene
No longer, can I stand
The illness I don't understand

The numbness which pains me so
There is no answer which I could know
That could save me from this
And so I die in this abyss

Lively Apathy

Lying down I stand.
The sky above,
Or below?
Is tinted gray,
Or blue?

I sing or mumble,
With notes that are flat,
or sharp?
Songs that pull me together,
or apart?

When I speak I am silent.
My words are brilliant,
or dull?
They leave me full,
or hollow?

Deep in thought I am vacant,
With ideas that are ingenious,
or meaningless?
I am sure,
I am sure?
