First, I will post the overall rules, and then I will post the specifics about this week.
Original rules, as stated by Ubertuna:
It must fit the week's theme. It must be submitted by the deadline. It cannot have inappropriate language in it. It cannot be stolen (if you plagiarize, we will find you).
Also:
The poem must be created for this contest A user cannot win two weeks in a row (though everyone is welcome to submit every week!) Only one submission per user will be accepted
As we all know, the winner will recieve a merit, and their poem will be featured on the _Poetry_ page.
OK, on to this week's topic...Again, we are having a style instead of a theme. Also, this week we are having TWO WEEKS to do it, instead of the usual one. Why? Because this will be an EPIC poem. Or, rather, a parody of an epic poem. Generally, epic poetry is very long, and tells the serious story of a heroic figure. Well, this week, the epic figure is YOU! Write a long poem (I'll leave the definition of 'long' up to you, but give it a good go) about the heroic story of you! It can be silly, serious, whatever... just have fun with it. You have two weeks, so have a great time!
capter one began it was no ones plan but your eyes wont let me escape Your name is set in stone on my heart i never want to be apert from you but babe know that this is just the start
O please just turn the page It's the way it should be me and you will make chapter two and after we are done we will shake the world and do what we want i'm asking out front, please be my chapter three
So now our books come to a close i can't explain why i love you you ripped me heart out once again and then you slipped away. The ride with him proved to me fatal you moved away from the wall and thats all that you got to do and you are the one to lose everything..........
Eh, worst thing i've wrtten in a while, but what the hey.
OMG, poetry... I haven't done this since English class...
Well, I suppose it is time to begin.
I saw your face again But it was so sad. How is the world so harsh When I remember the happiness
But now I look Long into your eyes Maybe it is the last time How is the world so harsh When I remember the love
As you turn to leave Trying not to cry I have to say something Or this love will be lost How is the world so harsh When I remember your face
You are on the edge of my sight And now I have almost lost you I have to say one thing, before you leave "I love you- Forever"
Oh how is the world so harsh When our love never dies?
Ugh, I can make poetry up on the spot... But this was probably horrible. It would have gotten me a 100 though, all of my poems did in English. Because the only thing that mattered was the poem!
Two more, though! Leaning against you On your shoulder Very comforting Even Armor Games can wait for you.
Holding your warm hand Sitting with you, my one love I long to kiss you
First was a normal poem Second was Acrostic Third was Haiku.
So, what do you think? I know only one is allowed, so I will go with the first one, though I like my Haiku.
E is for the way you direct your eye contact at me V is for the only one I visualize with my eyes (that's you (no, not you) ) O is very very incredible and very awesome L is even more than anyone that you love greatly
I lay awake thinking of you, Of all the memories we have, We have right in my pad.
I roll over hoping to see you, Reach out to caress your face, Your face that I'll never forget.
Nothings there spare a trace of your scent, Your perfume and shampoo lingering on my sheets, My sheets you slept under only last night.
I get up to try and distract myself to no avail, Everywhere I look brings me back to when you were here, Were here in my arms and my life.
Right here on my bed is where we spent many a night, Should of been sleeping but stayed awake, Stayed awake and now your taste lingers on my lips.
I know you'll return before longer...you always do, We have our seperate lives to live and own places to stay, To stay so far apart yet keep so closely connected.
I'll keep on doing this every day until you return, Waiting for you and watching for outside my window, My window I last saw you from. ------
