First, I will post the overall rules, and then I will post the specifics about this week.

Original rules, as stated by Ubertuna:

It must fit the week's theme.
It must be submitted by the deadline.
It cannot have inappropriate language in it.
It cannot be stolen (if you plagiarize, we will find you).

Also:

The poem must be created for this contest
A user cannot win two weeks in a row (though everyone is welcome to submit every week!)
Only one submission per user will be accepted

As we all know, the winner will recieve a merit, and their poem will be featured on the _Poetry_ page.

OK, on to this week's topic...Again, we are having a style instead of a theme. Also, this week we are having TWO WEEKS to do it, instead of the usual one. Why? Because this will be an EPIC poem. Or, rather, a parody of an epic poem. Generally, epic poetry is very long, and tells the serious story of a heroic figure. Well, this week, the epic figure is YOU! Write a long poem (I'll leave the definition of 'long' up to you, but give it a good go) about the heroic story of you! It can be silly, serious, whatever... just have fun with it. You have two weeks, so have a great time!

Also, make sure to read my poem in a quick, upbeat fashion. The rhythm I heard in my head should find its way into yours too, then.

Standing Beneath a Chinese Bodhisattva

Eyes closed, he sat for centuries
Behind a grove of sacred trees;
Face blank, he was not here with us
To feel the sandy summer gust,
For he had reached that human height,
Nirvanic soul now filled with light!
Detached was he, even his face
Had transcended both time and space.

But in my mind I saw but death:
A man who plumbed the bloody depths
Of man, his arms stretched to their breadth
Who struggled still to gain one breath
And screamed up to the stormy skies
The final words of his demise.
He lived as he died, a mortal man
With no one there but his own plan.

And from the pain of humankind
Have we two ways to peace of mind:
To live aloof, and thus escape
The wheel that bends us out of shape;
Or to confront, and die so we
May live to immortality.

One high, one low, which way to go?
To flee or die, which way best knows?

Been away for months and nothing has changed here :P

hope I still get on this round

Fly away
Magicians hat stands alone,
wonder who it appeared in my home.
Something weird starting to emerge
a pink mist where I will myself submerge.

The mist start to take shape,
what is that, maybe an ape?
But finally, it has a shape of a cloud,
I scream of joy to the world, out loud.

I hop on the cloud and fly through the window,
souring in high above with my sweet fluffy pillow.
But suddenly the cloud bursts like a broken ball,
and down down down...down I fall

Something quick and simple :P
hope you like the poem

oh darned...sry for the typos...here comes a fix.

But finally, it has a shape of a cloud,

Impatient much?

Look, when it happens, it happens. No need to complain.
4 days isn't the worst it has been.

I've contacted Moat about it on his comments. Must be a busy week for him.

I know I am late but why can't I try?

--------------------------

The light goes out.
Humans will die.
A massive heatwave.
We will all fry.

We'll try to find shelter.
We'll go to the poles.
Drowning in our mistakes.
Not learning from the old.

We know we will die.
Our faith disappeared.
There is no god.
The apocalypse is near.

Before, we were prosperous.
We had no fear.
We fought every battle.
With a gun, with a spear.

We had everything.
Money and food.
An abundance of water.
There was not one feud.

It was our peak.
But it went downhill.
We became ignorant.
And we are still.

Now we face death.
There is no return.
No way back in time.
We will all BURN!

Beast, shut up and be patient. Judges don't live just to judge. Jonnycakes is probably on spring break. Be patient.

If Moat does not show up tomorrow, then I will perform an emergency judging as a former judge. Not the first time I've done it for him, so I don't think he'll object.

I entered too, but I don't expect to judge my own. Although...if adrecka or wistress are here, we could ask them to perform an emergency judging.
