First, I will post the overall rules, and then I will post the specifics about this week.
Original rules, as stated by Ubertuna:
It must fit the week's theme. It must be submitted by the deadline. It cannot have inappropriate language in it. It cannot be stolen (if you plagiarize, we will find you).
Also:
The poem must be created for this contest A user cannot win two weeks in a row (though everyone is welcome to submit every week!) Only one submission per user will be accepted
As we all know, the winner will recieve a merit, and their poem will be featured on the _Poetry_ page.
OK, on to this week's topic...Again, we are having a style instead of a theme. Also, this week we are having TWO WEEKS to do it, instead of the usual one. Why? Because this will be an EPIC poem. Or, rather, a parody of an epic poem. Generally, epic poetry is very long, and tells the serious story of a heroic figure. Well, this week, the epic figure is YOU! Write a long poem (I'll leave the definition of 'long' up to you, but give it a good go) about the heroic story of you! It can be silly, serious, whatever... just have fun with it. You have two weeks, so have a great time!
A bitter sweet drill digs into my chest, Underneath is a pile of coal. Dirty and dusty, and covered in mold. But this drill is wise. She has taken my coal And she made diamonds that glitter, that sparkle like gold.
She takes my diamonds and where's them around. Now I'm wrapped around her fingers, And we've fallen in love.
Until she forgets me. Until an oyster comes along. And she can take pearls from his mouth. I am left in the jewlery box. I pretend I'm stuck in here and cannot see, The beautiful blows she delivers to me. And her punches hurt like heaven.
Sometimes I rush to get to the end, To escape all that hangs around me. But now I want to go back when You were right there by my side.
Sometimes I think I know what this is about, But time only displays my ignorance. 'Cause theres no room for my happiness, When you occupy every waking thought.
So then I try to move on With nowhere to turn. And then I see your face! Now your love is gone. Gone, gone!
All I can see is you rushing around; You spare no glance to me, the beggar. What do I have to do to get back your love? To turn back the dial, to way-back-when?
Could you just stop, and spare me a thought? And help me to bridge this great divide? But you never give me a helping hand, Even as this wind blows me around.
So then I try to move on With nowhere to turn. And then I see your face! Now your love is gone. Gone, gone!
Then one day you stop, and notice me. And all eternity flashes in your eyes, For the last time, you start to speak. From your lips I see the truth come out.
So then I try to move on, With nowhere to turn. And then I see this cliff! Now my love is gone. Gone, gone!
Perhaps I should take a crack at this again. It's been a while.
The Cost of Love
The girl I met one summer ago, who promised me happiness, heaven, I still have today, love still existent, but pondering now; this paradise real?
The girl of my dreams, my life circled 'round, abandoning those things of the past. Was it all worth it, severing those old ties to the former self I used to be?
Is it really worth this hefty price? To leave behind friends of old, forget those things that once held place as my most cherished belongings?
I've paid my way to this so-called heaven, with the hopes and dreams of my past. The space now replaced with pain, from the paradise that robbed me of life.

She takes my diamonds and where's them around. Now I'm wrapped around her fingers, And we've fallen in love.

By AG time it close in 45 minutes, clocks aren't set back until 2 AM EST, so technically November 6, 2011. This theme got an amazing amount of entries, good luck to our judge.
Interesting...my post didn't go through. But yeah, it's all closed for now. Judging may have to wait until Saturday simply because I have two big projects to work on this week. Sorry guys, it's been busy for me.
