First, I will post the overall rules, and then I will post the specifics about this week.

Original rules, as stated by Ubertuna:

It must fit the week's theme.
It must be submitted by the deadline.
It cannot have inappropriate language in it.
It cannot be stolen (if you plagiarize, we will find you).

Also:

The poem must be created for this contest
A user cannot win two weeks in a row (though everyone is welcome to submit every week!)
Only one submission per user will be accepted

As we all know, the winner will recieve a merit, and their poem will be featured on the _Poetry_ page.

OK, on to this week's topic...Again, we are having a style instead of a theme. Also, this week we are having TWO WEEKS to do it, instead of the usual one. Why? Because this will be an EPIC poem. Or, rather, a parody of an epic poem. Generally, epic poetry is very long, and tells the serious story of a heroic figure. Well, this week, the epic figure is YOU! Write a long poem (I'll leave the definition of 'long' up to you, but give it a good go) about the heroic story of you! It can be silly, serious, whatever... just have fun with it. You have two weeks, so have a great time!

Just playing around. Each line has the same amount of characters (incl. spaces). L1 and L3, L2 and L4 have the same amount of words (therefore spaces) and syllables.

The Adult Puddlejumper

Fingers tapping on my window beckon me to leave my room,
But I've got so much work to do and none to finish soon.
They entice a look from me outside into the merry gloom.
I turn my head back to my desk and hear a distant croon.

Fall down friend
I`ve got time to spend
Come play with me

The rain is free!

The fun we`ve had
Makes me so glad
That you came to me

The rain is free!

With it I fly
Soaring up high
It loves me

The rain is free!

It is beauty
It is simplicity
It is perfection
It is all I see.

I love it
And it loves me
We are truly alive

The rain is free!

The love I feel
Is all that`s real
Besides the love
Of it above

Cry Cry Cry
It leaves for the sky
It leaves me here
Alone with my fears
Creeping into my mind

Why did it leave me behind?

Meh... It started okay but then it got worse the more I wrote.

It was good Lynoth, I liked the repetition. And the fact that it had good rhythm yet it broke from the pattern a little. It made it interesting.

As for you, choazmachine, I liked the first ending better though both were good. The first seemed to fit better.

Umm Alt, well it rhymed well and it gave a different point of view of rain.

The deadline? I rather not say yet, Once there are more entrees i will tell you. See i don't want those who have entered to have to wait to long but i want to give others a chance to enter. Maybe around May 7? We will see. I'll give you a definite by Sunday.

This is poetry without rhymes

Hammer and Anvil

The rain beats the ground,
I hear it in my darkness.
Every drop hits my heart,
like large sledge hits an anvil.

I try to close myself,
withdraw to my cocoon.
Raise my walls against
the siege so powerful.

A crow flies past me,
wing beats sounding like thunder,
I remember the stories,
and my walls start to crumble.

I fall to my knees,
I burst open.
Finally,
my pain is released.

My tears mix with the raindrops,
falling to the fresh shoveled soil.
I release my pain and place the lily,
rest in peace my love.

So this is how people get merits... I thought it was only in games...

First time ever doing it, I don't really know if it is really Poerty or not. I have no heart. 8D

Raindrops are cold, sometimes too big.
Raindrops are refreshing, sometimes in need of thirst.
Raindrops give headaches, sometimes give us the cold.
Raindrops are wet, but deserts are dry.

Rain

Rain is a dark abysmal,
absorbing impact and gravity.

Rain is death,
bleak and unforgiving.

It is tragedy,
majesty,
a aching cavity.

Rain comes before sun
rain makes rainbows
Rain is a lullaby sung.

awfjadlskjfawjf It seems like you figured it out but for future reference the theme is up at the top of the page. Right next to where it says Weekly Poetry Contest.

@adrecka: Lol at how you can't think of anything to say except for the good rhyme scheme and take on rain. . .lol.
