First, I will post the overall rules, and then I will post the specifics about this week.

Original rules, as stated by Ubertuna:

It must fit the week's theme.
It must be submitted by the deadline.
It cannot have inappropriate language in it.
It cannot be stolen (if you plagiarize, we will find you).

Also:

The poem must be created for this contest
A user cannot win two weeks in a row (though everyone is welcome to submit every week!)
Only one submission per user will be accepted

As we all know, the winner will recieve a merit, and their poem will be featured on the _Poetry_ page.

OK, on to this week's topic...Again, we are having a style instead of a theme. Also, this week we are having TWO WEEKS to do it, instead of the usual one. Why? Because this will be an EPIC poem. Or, rather, a parody of an epic poem. Generally, epic poetry is very long, and tells the serious story of a heroic figure. Well, this week, the epic figure is YOU! Write a long poem (I'll leave the definition of 'long' up to you, but give it a good go) about the heroic story of you! It can be silly, serious, whatever... just have fun with it. You have two weeks, so have a great time!

OMG :P L0L..this time not even mentioned

JereN, I know how you feel ...this is the second time in a row that my poem hasn't been mentioned and my poems are quite good. So really, take it as it is ... they say, "beauty is in the eye of the beholder'

Ah well...One man's meat is another man's poison...Though it should be 'woman' here. Our judges aren't biased...Hopefully.

I'm not trying to take anything away from you. Personally, I would have picked your poem to win also ,,, honestly though, I would have picked my poem to place ... but like you said, my "meat" is obviously others &quotoison".

Our judges aren't biased...Hopefully
.

LOL ..let's hope not! <keeping fingers crossed>

You're right ..I shouldn't have stated that you said that specifically ... I should have stated the implication of your statement, "One man's meat is another man's poison" , meant, for me, that my "meat" was another's poison. Sorry I mis-paraphrased you.

I am sorry for not mentioning all of you! But there are many good poems, i am not biased and i cant always mention you. Though i try. I do not think ANY of the poems are bad.

Some say that if they had their way
They'd wish each day a summer day.
But while I love the warmth it brings
I'd miss the cooler, wetter spring.

Others wish, if they could rule the earth,
That fall would be of much more worth.
But there's time to reap and time to grow:
Harvest is good, but seed must be sown.

Still others yearn for the pure bite
Of winter's cold and chilly nights.
The time is that of festive cheer;
It would not fit for one whole year.

Spring has its friends, last but not least,
Who would like to see its time increased.
But that's not how it should unfold,
For green should mature into gold.

And still the Earth turns 'round the sun,
Through the seasons, every one.
Cycle through and then repeat,
So that the circle is complete.

First place two weeks ago, and second place last week?! Butter me up, Im on a roll.

The season huh? Ok!

The Life Cycle is Epic

The sky is clear blue, the ground is snow white.
I cannot move from this beautiful sight.
The trees swing barren, and the ice dances off the branches.
And the gray smoke billows from the families' ranches.

But those days are gone and lost in green.
And now all these pretty flowers can be seen.
But why is the Earth so sad from all this life?
As it cries down and wets the soil with all it's might.

Now life now blooms across the world as everything warms up.
...

[Don't Judge-This is Eye Candy] ;-D

And that's all I have for now. I cannot think right now. Excuse me.

The wondrous white
dazzling snow
nature's might
temperatures low.

The trees shed leaves
leaving them barren and drab
against fantastic eves
radiant ice hanging on like a scab

what horrid, evil thing
could stop this crystalline light?
make it melt away,
the cycle tiredly trite

the beauty melts off
the welcoming ice
driven off, you shudder and cough,
hoping the pristine beauty again will rise.

Ummm. . .somewhat tiredfail. This is my official entry for now. . . .

Age Uncovers

Chilled to the bone
Awaiting the frost
As bleak winds moan
Their innocence lost

Warmed to their hearts
Expecting the thaw
As blossoms start
Their beauty withdraws

Simmered by heat
Looking for cover
As dog days beat
Their age uncovers

Cooled to the core
Beholding their breath
As tired leaves pour
They cherish their death

Sorted

As the world turns round
what its really going on?
the day changes
why have we sorted them?
every day is different

the bear goes to sleep in winter
but why say winter
when we can say a day?
why not be specific
when we can be specific?

why?
we dont know the exact day
why?
because there is no exact day
why?
nature is amazing, unexplainable, beautiful

the days pass by
we notice every detail
but we let one thing go
completly unaware
the earth changes

we do not fully understand
the things that happen
why do the birds fly south for winter
we say instinct
nature says seasons

we argue with nature
try to predict it
try to explain it
but then one day
we realize

yep so i suck.. kinda got a little off topic
