First, I will post the overall rules, and then I will post the specifics about this week.
Original rules, as stated by Ubertuna:
It must fit the week's theme. It must be submitted by the deadline. It cannot have inappropriate language in it. It cannot be stolen (if you plagiarize, we will find you).
Also:
The poem must be created for this contest A user cannot win two weeks in a row (though everyone is welcome to submit every week!) Only one submission per user will be accepted
As we all know, the winner will recieve a merit, and their poem will be featured on the _Poetry_ page.
OK, on to this week's topic...Again, we are having a style instead of a theme. Also, this week we are having TWO WEEKS to do it, instead of the usual one. Why? Because this will be an EPIC poem. Or, rather, a parody of an epic poem. Generally, epic poetry is very long, and tells the serious story of a heroic figure. Well, this week, the epic figure is YOU! Write a long poem (I'll leave the definition of 'long' up to you, but give it a good go) about the heroic story of you! It can be silly, serious, whatever... just have fun with it. You have two weeks, so have a great time!
Wow, we have some real gems in this pile o' poetry!
I'm gonna come up with one quick for fun.
I'm waiting
Want to stop on page 53, right in between the fight of the characters, don't want to lose your place, I'll keep track for you.
You've been gone quite a while now, but I'm here between 52 and 53, I can feel a sting from the slam of the book, upon my slender body.
I've waited for sometime now, and the pages have turned a pale brown, and have begun to curl like fallen leaves. But I'm still here, even though you're not.
You won't be coming back, will you? I've waited for you, though it doesn't matter now. The cover is powedered with dust and the spine is weak, it doesn't matter to you now, but I will still wait for you.
That was made in a jiffy, so if you didn't like it, that's fine. I can't wait to see who the winner is this week!
Hay nice to see you on, Firetail_madness. And ya some/most of them are thought, ,mine too. But how else are you supouse to do it?? Jk anyway Strop, is all the poem contest to come goning to have this long of a entering time.?
One picture is worth a thousand words Each of those words is a thousand pictures. Reality is boring I can only be me. I am only a picture. In a story I am one of those words.
Nope, I've just been busy with stuff, including other urgent AG business...but yes. I will be closing the entries and judging at the same time as the Art contest entries, which is presently in 5 hours!
Sorry mentorso123, I do like your poems. I just havnt been leaving them for anyone resently. Dont feel left out we all love to read your's. At least i do!
