First, I will post the overall rules, and then I will post the specifics about this week.

Original rules, as stated by Ubertuna:

It must fit the week's theme.
It must be submitted by the deadline.
It cannot have inappropriate language in it.
It cannot be stolen (if you plagiarize, we will find you).

Also:

The poem must be created for this contest
A user cannot win two weeks in a row (though everyone is welcome to submit every week!)
Only one submission per user will be accepted

As we all know, the winner will recieve a merit, and their poem will be featured on the _Poetry_ page.

OK, on to this week's topic...Again, we are having a style instead of a theme. Also, this week we are having TWO WEEKS to do it, instead of the usual one. Why? Because this will be an EPIC poem. Or, rather, a parody of an epic poem. Generally, epic poetry is very long, and tells the serious story of a heroic figure. Well, this week, the epic figure is YOU! Write a long poem (I'll leave the definition of 'long' up to you, but give it a good go) about the heroic story of you! It can be silly, serious, whatever... just have fun with it. You have two weeks, so have a great time!

Imagine there's no Heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one
_____________

Make the reward to a pal, John Lennon, when I win.

Thanks.

living in a Utopia would be so great.
I wish I didn't have to wait.
in a perfect world with all evil gone,
I would be friends with a boy named John.
no guns, no bombs, no W.M.D.s,
In a world with prosperity and peace.
we would be perfect, and have no thoughts of evil.
we could do stunts and not break bones, like Mr. Kneevil.
although this poem won't make sense to some people,
it makes sense to me, and i can't find a word that rhymes with people.

Does anyone know who will be running this now since DragonMistress has resigned? I would hate to bug Carlie about it, but it is a plausible question.

a utopia, a place where people aren't too shy to ask someone out, or tell them "i love you"

Take Some Time and actuaâlly Read this

this is a GUY TALKIâNG.â.â.

â

ITS 7TH GRADEâ.â.â.

â

I stareâd at the girl next to me. She was my so calleâd "âbest frienâd"â.

â

I stareâd at her. Long,â silkyâ hair.â And I wisheâd she was mine.

â

But she didn'ât noticâe me like that.

â

I knew it

Afterâ classâ she walkeâd up to me
and askedâ me for the notesâ she had misseâd the day beforâe.

â

And I handeâd
them to her.â.â.â She said "âThankâs"â.â.â And gave me a kiss on the cheekâ.â.â.

â I
wanteâd to tell her.â.â.

â I want her to know that I don'ât want to be 'âjust
frienâds'â.â.â.â I love her but I'm too shy to tell her.â.â.

â And I don'ât know
why.â.â.

â

IT'S JUNIOâR YEAR.â.â.

â

My phoneâ rang.â.â.â On the otherâ end it was her.â.â.â She was in tearsâ.â.â.

â Mumblâing
on and on aboutâ how her love had brokeân her heartâ.â.â.

â She askedâ me to come
over becauâse she didn'ât want to be aloneâ.â.â.â So I did.â.â.

â As I sat next to her
on the sofa.â.â.â I stareâd at her soft eyes.â.â.â Wishiâng she was mine.â.â.

â Afterâ 2
hoursâ of a Drew Barryâmore movieâ and 3 bags of chipsâ.â.â.

â She decidâed to go
to sleepâ.â.â.â She lookeâd at me.. Said "âThankâs"â and gave me a kiss on the
cheekâ.â.â.â I wanteâd to tell her.â.â.â I want her to know.â.â.

â That I don'ât want to
be "âjust frienâds"â.â.â I love her but I'm too shy to tell her.â.â.

â And I don'ât
know why.â.â.

â

IT'S SENIOâR YEAR.â.â.

â

The day beforâe prom.â.â.â She walkeâd to my lockeâr.â.â.

â "My date is sick"â she
said.â.â.â He's not goingâ to go.â.â.â Well.â.â.

â I didn'ât have a date and in 7th
gradeâ.â.â.â We made a promiâse that if neiteâr of us had datesâ.â.â.

â We'd go
togetâher just as 'âbest frienâds'â.â.â.â And so we did.â.â.

â

IT'S PROM NIGHTâ.â.â.

â

Afterâ everyâthingâ was over with.â.â.â I was standâing at her frontâ door step.â.â.

â I
stareâd at her ... She smileâd at me.â.â.â I wanteâd her to be mine.â.â.

â But she
doesnâ'ât thinkâ of me like that.â.â.â And I know it.â.â.

â Then she said "I had the
best time.â.â.â Thankâs!â"â.â.â And she gave me a kiss on the cheekâ.â.â.

â I wanteâd to
tell her.â.â.â I wanteâd her to know that I don'ât want to be "âjust frienâds"â.

â

I
love her but I'm just too shy.â.â.â And I don'ât know why.â.â.

â

IT'S GRADUâATIONâ DAY.â.â.

â

A day passeâd.â.â.â And then a week.â.â.â And then a monthâ.â.â.

â Beforâe I couldâ
blinkâ.â.â.â It was graduâationâ day.â.â.â I watchâed her.â.â.â Perfeâct body.â.â.

â Floatâed
like an angelâ up on stageâ to get her diploâma.â.â.â I wanteâd her to be mine.

â

But she doesnâ'ât thinkâ of me that way.â.â.â And I know it.â.â.

â Beforâe everyâone
went home.â.â.â She came to me in her smockâ and hat.â.â.

â And criedâ as I huggeâd
her.â.â.

â Then she lifteâd her head from my shoulâders and said 'âyou'âre my best
frienâd'â.â.â.â "âThankâs!â"â.â.â.â And gave me a kiss on the cheekâ.â.â.

â I wanteâd to tell
her.â.â I wanteâd her to know that I wanteâd to be more than "âjust frienâds"â.â.

â I
love her but I'm too shy.â.â.â And I don'ât know why.â.â.

â

IT'S A FEW YEARSâ LATERâ.â.â.

â

Now I sit in the pews of the churcâh.â.â.

â A churcâh that she is gettiâng marriâed
in now.â.â.â I watchâed her say "I do" an driveâ off to her new life.â.â.

â Marriâed
to anothâer man.â.â.â I wanteâd her to be mine.â.â.

â But she didn'ât see me like
that.â.â.â And I knew it.â.â.â But beforâe she droveâ away.â.â.

â She came to me and
said "You came!â Thankâs"â.â.â.â And she kisseâd me on the cheekâ.â.â.

â I wanteâd to
tell her.â.â.â I wantdâ her to know that I didn'ât want to be "âjust frienâds"â.â.

â I
love her but I'm just too shy.â.â.â And I don'ât know why.â.â.

â

YEARSâ PASSEâD.â.â.

â

I lookeâd down at the coffiân of a girl who used to be my "âbest frienâd"â.

â

At

But he doesnâ'ât noticâe me like that.â.â.â And I know it.â.â.

â I wanteâd to tell

Down the road I go. I follow it until it ends. For down the road,is a place called home. Home is far away from this place. But by his grace,he leads me,more and more.

For when im done. I win the battle. I am home for once. A place I have never been. For while im here I talk to him. Down the road i go,to home is where I shall roam. A place called home.

I just typed the first thing that popped into my head.(Im not a deep person)

Ah, good. This works.

Silver Lining

All clouds have a silver lining, or so it's been said.
But this world is covered by a cloud so dark, the lining can't be seen.
Yet we hold on.

Each and every day, men die. Men die for love, for freedom, and for God.
They suffer, and through them, we all suffer. We all mourn their loss.
Yet we carry on.

People have become so cruel, so cold, so distant, so untrustworthy.
We have lost touch with each other and with what makes us humans.
Yet we live on.

We hold on, we carry on, we live on because we strive for something more.
We simply have yet to find our place, our home, our surrender.
So we push on.

For there, in the distance, we can almost see - almost, not quite
Our end, our glorious home, the Kingdom of God.
And we run on.

Some will call it a mirage. Perhaps they are right. Perhaps not.
Yet if it is, then what have we to look forward to?
So we hold on.

We hold on to our silver lining.

I hope it is still Saturday...because my last pitch effort is coming....

Perfectness?

We search the world,
For a place that is ours.
A place that is perfect,
A place of powers.

But what is it,
That leads us astray?
What pulls us away,
From those perfect days?

The things in this world,
Seem violent and crude
We can't stop them,
Or else we seem rude.

But this place of Utopia,
Where all is good.
Is a place that we find,
When we don't think we could.

I found this place,
Just the other day,
Everything was good,
In every single way.

The girl I love,
Was right by my side.
And things were just happy,
I felt real good inside.

The flowers smiled,
and the trees did wave.
Everyone was happy,
And a puppy I did save.

But BANG!, what was that?
Something to break my fun?
It turned out what made that noise.
Was nothing short of a gun.

But a gun in my place,
Where no fear existed?
This didn't make sense,
But the noise it persisted.

It shot through my consciousness,
Stopping me dead.
And then I lay there,
In a pool of red.

It turned out you see,
That it all was a dream.
And that the gun was my alarm,
My perfect world had been ripped open by the seam.

I hope that that is ok....
