As all of you know...or some countrys like Japan and the US
are starting to work on AI's "Artificial Intelligence" or have been working on them for a while now but when you give a machine so much power over the human world when you make them open there eyes when you make them smart they well soon see that we only use them for...work for what we want now see a future where menkind is no longer in charge what do you think of AI's?

What...you messed up on grammar here >_>

We are artificial intelligence ourselves. The ones we create though will be under our control, as we are under Gods.

It all depends on how independent we can make the AIs and the machines we put them in.
We've all seen sci-fi movies about robots rebelling against mankind, have we not? Would be so much better if we didn't need them, had no wars that is. But I guess that's impossible to achieve any time soon.

I was watching this show called Next World. A man on there said that if we do not want to be controlled by machines (because machines will definitely be more itelligent than us), that we need to become machines ourselves.

FIRST this reminds me a a movie.......it's coming......ahhh.....oh yeah THE TERMANATER!!!!

Anyway I do belive that it's all good that there is new technolgy and all, but but uncertains me is the fact that all around us the world is becoming more and more relient on technolgy, to do our work for us. I mean we can't evan peal a patato now without some invention that peals it for us!

See what I mean the world has become to relient on eveything to be done by someone else for them!

There's no way that robots can take over humans unless said robots are being controlled by a human. Even taking into account the idea that one person will create human-killing robots and not exclude himself/herself, a couple of well-placed EMPs would render all of them utterly useless. Or just one big magnet to immobilize them. Contrary to Hollywood's interpretation, magnets destroy computers, not just keep metal in place. If you want to test that theory, hold a big magnet up to your computer and let me know what happens. (Seriously, though, don't do it. It will kill your computer, especially your monitor.)

Furthermore, true intelligence is the ability to adapt, and computers simply aren't able to adapt unless we make them do so. They can't analyze anything, but rather collect data and process it in a manner that we tell them to. Computers are slaves to humans.

Finally, yes, there are some "experts" who claim AI will spiral out of control, but we can't create learning that's as advanced or more so than ours without first understanding how our brain is capable of learning and finding some way of making machines fulfill that role. I wouldn't be worried about uncontrolled AI minds taking over the world until we finish understanding the exact nature of our minds.

People are just getting lazier..that's why they find ways or create things to do work for them!

to have great robots you don't need artificial intelligence. You just need great programming and hardware. I think artificial intelligence is taking it a little too far. You don't need beings that don't feel emotions or pain to be going around thinking on their own...not a good idea. You could program robots to learn and to decide upon certain things like the best way to climb a mountain, but you don't need them pondering and thinking up stuff. Not very useful, and not very good for us humans (we would be inferior to them)

Plus machines that would have the ability to think, would be able to do so in a much much MUCH faster way than we can, and would be able to think more logically, and create things that we cannot even imagine right now. We would be overrun and it really would be the fall of human kind.

If you are at all curious about this, read Isaac Asimov's books. They deal with this and other interesting AI phenomenon.

Do you think it would be possible to make them think only a certain way,if we were to create this intelligence.I'm sure they could easily implement some fail safes for the robots, like if they rebel.Press a red button and they all shut down.I'm pretty sure it could work out.Anyways though, who is to say AI's are really possible.Right now I am taking a robotics class, and am learning have just started learning how VI's work.Trust me,if they do manage to create AI's then it won't be anytime soon.

Thats almost called life, of course, only difference is that they are not made of cells and do not reproduce, which are characteristics that must be included to call something life, scientifically anyway.

YA basically AI is a living being. It just so happens that these wouldn't be able to reproduce in the normal way animals do and they would be alot less fragile than the life that currently exists on earth. If something that powerful is able to think freely, it would be able to get past fail safes and off switches very easily. SOmething that is self away and intelligent, and is able to think so much faster than we can, will figure out a way to do anything.
